time warner/verizon merger

Does everyone know that if the time warner verizon merger goes throught our bundle packages and cable bills will most likely double in the village. Yes fios will be gone and time warner will have a monopoly in our area worse then they already do. Have you seen verizon putting up new lines by the weed library and in the surrounding areas? What do you think they are doing? Be ready and thank all the townships around the village and town for signing contracts with time warner to be the only cable carrier. Between the gas monopoly and now the cable one we are screwed in our community.

Hope minimum wage goes up soon or all the welfare people wont have anything to do without cable!

Well thats not really where I was going but.. Everyone should call our local officials mayors, legislators, congressmen and complain. that way maybe something can be done.

It is for wireless service only...nothing to do with cable. Also there is no fios in this area. Get your facts straight before you lip off.

Time Warner is not merging with Verizon. It is asking to buy unused wireless bandwidth from them. As Stan said, get your facts straight.

No VERIZON is NOT putting up new lines by the WEAD library...that's SLIC and they've been running network cables from St. Lawrence County to Franklin for 4 months now. You really need to get your facts straight. Don't believe me, drive by and check tne name on the trucks = SLIC.

I got it backward. The facts are: Verizon will pay $3.6 billion to Comcast, Time Warner and Bright House Networks to use cellphone airwaves that the cable giants own but do not use.

That's the site I cut and pasted from. Reread it-it's not a merger. Other sites verify it's the purchase of available bandwidth, not a merger.
