Delta Blues catfish

Went to the catfish restaraunt in Malden on Sunday with my family. Was not impressed. Walked in and was told to sit anywhere you like, as soon as we sat at a table the lady told us that table was reserved and we had to move. We again seated ourselves. Waitress came for drink orders...asked for DR Pepper...she said we only have Coke and Diet Coke...ok then...there is no childs plate on their menu, all meals are the same price, just based on about of fish or chicken strips you want. I have a seven year old that doesnt each much..but they do have a child's drink cup. We order, then the people with the reserved table arrive, the owners husband,motherinlaw and children. We wait and wait, they order and get their food first, before any other customers who have been waiting. Food is mediocre, fries are soggy, pass arounds never come. We go to check out. There are 4 of us, ordered the same thing except one childs drink. We split the ticket. Both tickets are the same. Childs drink in the iddie bittie cup is the same as the adults price. I will not go back. Bad service, poor manners, and not so great food.

There's a simple solution to this. First call the manager or person who owns the place and complain, second DON'T go back. If enough people do this, they will lose their business. I for one hate crappy restaurants and service. Hope you didn't leave a tip.

I love catfish and if this story is true am blessed, because this is the reason that i have a fryer at home and i cook my own catfish and hushpuppies, i can buy the fish fresh, filet are steaks cut to order $2.00 a pound.

You can have it...hush puppies were dry and crumbley. I was visiting from out of town and I am certainly glad I dont live there.

I haven't ate there yet, heard a lot of good reports from people in town. I was hoping to get some good catfish close to Malden, but if this is the case then I will be goo g back to Kennett or Paragould!!!

Sounds to me this thread if from the catfish restaurant owners in Kennett and Paragould who are losing their customers to good food and service! Must be doing something right, always busy!!!

My family and I absolutely love it! Everything on our plate has been good every time we've gone there. No complaints here. We will definitely keep going back. It's so nice to have a new restaurant close by.

found out the fish, fries, hushpuppies and country fried steak are all cooked in the same oil. they fry hamburgers in a skillet bc there is no grill. when the burgers are done they put them in a pot of hot water to keep them moist. they are not cooked fresh. the woman who owns/runs the place is rude.

Sounds like previous owners starting trouble to me,,just saying...ha I got a friend that helps out waitressing there and I do believe you sure don't know what your talkin about just tryin to start trouble. Leave it alone.

I only went once. I am from the Jonesboro area. I hope it has improved for the sake people that live in Malden. I realize that you dont have a lot of choices there, but it was really poor service and poor quality the day we visited...and I agree the owner was very rude. Maybe she was having a bad day.

I also got bad service and I didn't think that they had much to choose from on their menu. I think their fish is little compared to Captain Jack's. I think that Captain Jack's was much better in the service department and menu choices for sure!! Wonder why it went out of business? I don't eat it myself, I just pick it up for someone. I ate at Captain Jack's but after seeing the fish dinner from this new place I don't order it. If I were the owners I would increase the menu items and improve the service for sure.

are the fish fillets still so small they curl up like curly fries

Fish tasted muddy, potatoes were cold , service wasnt so great. First and last time there.

Our meals was wonderful!! So glad to have delta blues in Malden! Fish was great!! Fried taters is the bomb!

LOVE IT...seems like it gets better everytime I come. Great food awesome atmosphere. See you next weekend!

We went last night to eat at Delta Blues on a recommendation from a candidate in the upcoming election. The food was delicious and I come the conclusion if you leave that place hungry something's wrong. We left satisfied and will be back.

i'm not a previous owner. i know someone who worked there. i'm glad people are liking it but i just know that i won't be going there.

Hmmm

What is the smell in there? I noticed all kinds of air freshner products trying to move the smell but they are not working. If you have a very small menu like they do you need to have some kick ass food so that no one wants to order anything other than what you have. Sadly, they fall very short of that. The food was awful in my opinion, chicken was not seasoned at all, fries tasted like fish and the sweet tea was way too sweet for most peoples liking.
