I saw Courtney in court and she showed NO remorse ... I don't think I will ever understand. She can never tell her Dad she is sorry. I could not imagine living w/ something like that. At the very end she is still trying to protect her boyfriend by saying she commited the crime! She never said she loved her Dad!

She got life in prison because she was only 16 when she did it. It had nothing to do with her sex. She was also an accomplice not the actual murderer

The people that we should consider in this situation is the rest of her family. It was a tragic event and the people who were close to her at any point in time, guaranteed, think about it every day. A long time ago Courtney was just a normal girl, and nobody who cared about her, and not even she would have ever expected to be living like she has been. Its sad, and heartbreaking.

This girl needs serious help. She could not obtain the death penalty as someone previously stated because of her age during the incident and not due to her sex. But that may have been a factor if a death sentence was an option. Too bad we get the honor of paying 30K a year for 70 years to maintain the life her life. Huh $2.1 Million dollars for one girl if she lives till 88.

What a waste! I resent having to support this murderess for the rest of her days. She should be executed --- the same way she murdered her father.

I think in my opinion...if this was someone in your family...you guys that are saying execute her would think diffferntly...especially if you were her mom...so shut up and color...you only know what you hear and read...you don't know any of the crap she or her family may have gone through...

You go from "I think in my opinion" too.."...so shut up and color...", so now your forcing your opinion on us. Your right I would think differently, if my sister had a sense of remorse. But since she did not, why should I? And that is why they choose jurors who are not biased. Because people always say my child/parent/mother/friend could not possibly do that right up to the point they do, and then some still after. I watched the court case on TV, she had zero remorse, and even laughed during the proceedings. And in the end tried to bail her boyfriend out of trouble when she realized her defense failed. Get yer facts.

A good panties down spanking about 5 years ago could have averted all this. Actually, she still should get one every year on Feb 10th.

I knew Courtney (she was my neighbor when she lived in Waterfod Lakes and we went to school together for a little while) and I knew Mike (we went to school together, and he dated one of my friends). She would/could not have done that herself, and I seriously doubt that Mike did nothing. If you knew either of them, a lot of you would drastically change your opinions.

I consider myself to have quite a 'tough on violent criminals' mentality but people this girl was sixteen and look at the p0ic she looks more like a super emotional 12 year old. I do thimk SOME compassion is in order. I think she should get 25 years in prison and possible parlle therafter. Let me tell you one thing. I am in BaghdadIraq living in a cement compount with huge blast walls on all sides. I walk outside in our gray cement courtyard very reminiscent of a small prison yard and stay here for 3 months at a time. If you could walk like that and then imagine if this was FOREVER with no chance of getting out - I have to say I thought of Courtney while walkin g there the other day and to think of that made me sick. it really did. that is so hopelessly terrible. I feel some mercy has to be given to her due to her age at the time. Do you remember school? I knew 16 year old girls who were such emotional basket cases at that age that it amounts to diminshed responsibility. In fact I'd even like to help with those 2. does anyone have contact info to a support / defense group for those 2?

Melissa I would like to help those two. Do you have any ideas or contact infor for a defense fund or support fund that may be working on any appeals on their behalf? prison yes but life without parole is excessive in this case. Any help you could provide would be much appreciated. My email address is drewjsundberg@yahoo.com

Actually, as they get older it will be even more expensive. They will need medical care, especially drugs to treat diabetes, aids and heart conditions.
