I would say "Al Qaeda Baptist" would be a good description of the Worley supporters.

10-4. Reminds me of Jimmy Carter's thoughts about fundamentalists. In spite of the fact that he was (and remains) a very devout Christian, he could not tolerate the narrow minded and inflexible positions of the fundamentalists in America and, most particularly, that they think everyone must believe exactly as they do. They believe that they are the omnipotent ones, and their words should be law. During the Iran hostage situation, he called the fundamentalists "America's own ayatollahs". I have believed this for a long time. I think that they are a greater threat to our country than any foreign terrorist group. These folks are right next door!

This Lady had some serious issues . She couldn't answer even the most simple question . I don't understand what she was trying to accomplish with this " Ummmm " " well not that but yeah it was that " " Ummmmm " " welll" all while she rolls her eyes and make 3rd grade statements . Thsi woman was seriously dumb as a box of rocks and never even a crack of a smile . Hateful & bitter doesnt explain this woamn . Wonderful woman this must be in real life lol she was pathetic .

The sad thing is that people judge all Christians based on the actions of a few radicals. Its a stereotype just like the ones against GLBT, race, nationality etc. While I personally do not agree with certain things people do, it is not our place to judge them. Most Christians I know feel the same way I do. The God I was raised to know taught us to love our neighbors and treat them the way we want to be treated, helping them in times of need and rejoicing with them in times of fortune. Its a shame that a few radical people can make us all look bad...

We know that. You are preaching to the choir. You need to send this post to Rev Worley's website and get the message to him and the people of Providence Road Baptist. Those are the ones to let know.

You might know that. But there are plenty of religion bashers on here that dont. All they want to do is paint a picture of all Christians as hateful bigots. I'm glad that you and some people do understand. I'll forward my message to the pastor if you will forward it to the religion haters.

Will do. Religious Haters: Rev. Worley in no way expresses the beliefs of the widespread Christian community. Just as Islam has it's radical factions in Al Qaeda and The Taliban, there is a small percentage of Christians that follow the belief of Rev. Worley and his extremist members. Jesus Christ taught the gospel of love and acceptance of each human being, regardless of their race, religion, economic status or sexuality. In the matters of faith and eternal life, God will make the final judgement, and He will make this judgement based exclusively on HIS criteria, and not that of Rev. Worley or any other persons thoughts or beliefs. Please do not bash the Christian Community at large, as many of these people are doing their best to follow the doctrine and gospel given by Jesus Christ. If I have placed all Christians in the category of Rev. Worley at anytime in the past, then I offer my sincere apology. Tolerance, not necessary acceptance of the lifestyle of those different than us, is what we all need to practice as a measure of living together with each other in a much improved way while we live on earth.

I agree that it is rampant in this area, but we have the freedom to stay out of those churches. This is a small segment in proportion to the whole of Christianity. I have many Christian friends who have spoken out against Worley and his insane bigotry being taught from the pulpit. If you will take note, the average fundamentalist that accepts this bigotry generally has it in other areas of life, like their feelings toward minorities, particuarlay black and Mexican. Also note that their intellectual skills seem to be lower, and are generally close to poverty and typically uneducated. This has been my general experience in dealing with these people. They support a minister who will feed their bigoted views. To them he is a hero, but to the Christian community at large, he is viewed as a misfit who is hurting the cause of Christianity and taking many people away from the true Christ.

I understand your point .

I was raised in a very religious household . My grandfather a dedicated minister and my grandmother a proud ministers wife never even hinting at a curse word . They would have never acted the way that these guys are . My grandparents were loving , caring and accepting of everyone regardless of race or sexuality .I was raised in that manner .

It just seems like as time goes on , i get older and the earth keeps turning that i find it difficult and more difficult to find any positive aspects to organized religion .

All i see is judgmental people . i wish i felt the way i did as a kid being in church , but i don't .
