John wrote: The New McDonalds should start building in Feb2013 although it could always start earlier or be pushed back. Interesting note the size is of theplace is differen than what the news paper reported. ConstructionJournal places it just a bit bigger and refers to it as a shopping center. Which kind of makes sense if you consider it might be more than just a McDonalds there. Bankof America ATM has gone up infront of the CashPoints ATM in the family dollar parking lot...odd to be in the exact spot as another ATM but what is intersting is the construction going on behind that ATM across the street. Possible Dolar General? Murphy Oil Express should start building at the end of October. QuikTrip is listed as biding in Lincolnton but this couldbe East Lincolnton. I dont travel to East so I wouldnt know. All I know is the listing says Lincolnton. I know there is one in Mooresville his is most likely East Lincolnton though. A new Medical building or future Medical park is being bid on as well with construction being started at the end of Nov of this year. The bid for this was kind of vague made it sound more like one of those places that build for the future and noting moves into it ever. We have quite a few of those retail wise around lincolnton. Tanning Place between DOllar General and Dollar Tree is for sale this is intresting to note because up at Big Lots in one of the empty spaces a building permit for a taning salon has been posted for a few months now. Maybe they are moving. where you get this information i too wonder if that where the Dollar general would go dont know unless they are trying to get all them to be stand alone stucture..

Since most new Dollar Generals are stand alone then the new one should be but thats just an assumpion on my part based on whats around us. Personally, if Ingles had ever got built I would of put Dollar General in there.
A couple of sites let you preview bids other wise you have to pay a crazy amount of cash just to learn the adderess. Most previews only say "Retail" or "Shopping Center" but sometimes it says the actual name. Other wise you just have to look at the size of the place and so looking around at other resources.
If I put the actual name with com afterwards my post gets deleted. I have posted links before and it has dispeared.
Search for "Bid" sites the popular ones (obviously) will have the best results such as Construction Journal or Bid Clerk.
You can also look at the local zoning website and it lists changes to the roads and when street lights are going up and what delays to expect. They are a few coming up in 2013 - 2015 that suggest some major things are coming...but who knows....

Right. So. If you look across the wa from the "New" Family Dollar in lincolnton(Boger City) you will now see a sign that says coming soon Dollar General.
The only issue might be getting to it from certain points...could be a downfall of the new location...but there it is.

Homestead Grill and Taproom is listed on the sign out front. If it s the same owner as Fatz... oddly enough in Gastonia the company that owns Fatz open'd up Tavern 24. Bit of trivia there.
H & R Block moving in next to Bi-lo. This infomation comes from the offical leasing website.
SideNote I have no clue if its the same one from the old sentry drug building...if it is...thats quite interesting as that would mean the SweepsStakes place is the ONLY thing left in that building. I stil think a Gym was a horrible idea there...Winn-Dixie was awesome *shrugs*...Id like to see a decent sitdown resturant with the right rework and possible tear down in certain spots if needed.

The medical place next to Dollar General/Dollar Tree has seen some activity recently. The building permit says
"Inter-Demo Dollar General"
I wanna say this means either Dollar General will knock out a wall and join in to expand OR they will just completey move into the new spot.
The assumption here being the new DG in Boger City provided some extra attention and th older DG wanted to expand?
I think its really cool that they are staying in a shopping center considering lots of Dollar Generals are opting to move out of a center just to have its own place. I also think its noteable to mention that I recently noticed the Dollar General in Dallas has a Family Video built with it. I fully endorse Family Video because Red Boxes are lame. You get more from an actual store than you do in that Red Box. I dont know how many times I have saw someone standing at the WalGreens one when I walked into Family Video and when I left with a bunch of new releases that same person or worse a line was forming over at WalGreens. It makes no sense when you consider the delay in new releases in those boxes compare to Family Video.
ANYWAY....my point is I dont know if this newer Dollar General will have the red box outside a lot of them do the one in Dallas seems to have made a deal with family video instead...what if we saw something like Pick A Flick move in with this new Dollar General.

Oh, and speaking of expanding...
Apparently the House of Hope that was never open but claimed was only open to invite only or whatever when one of the news stations visited...
Well, just weeks after the episode aired feauring them on Extreme Makeover their "store" if you can call it a store...has moved into Treasure Hunt. A place that really wasnt a Treasure at all to Hunt.
I havent had a chance to see if its now open to the public you would think a bigger store means they could be but they said on the news that a lot of the stock they kept at their house so maybe its just a place to keep more stock.
It "grand opened" on the 2nd of March.
With Big Lots not having any good sales lately, Freds gone and techy people mocking Radio Shack...there really isnt a reason to go to that center other than to work out. If only something really interesting would pop up in there. Remember when Lowes Hardware was on the end. I have always hoped that Big Lots would remodel Freds side into one of the bigger newer Big Lots you see in other places and move on over. Aldi's kind of blocks it when sitting at the intersection.

Well first of all they had lots of folks uptown for years crusing and no businesses opened after 5:00. Now nobody goes there and they want to "make it crowded again". I guess since the new mayor is in into real estate, he has some investments in those buildings.
Second, there is no newspaper in Lincolnton. There is a liberal who tells us who broke into a home and who won the pie contest. No real reporting on the government waste or incompetence in the way our taxes are spent.
Third, if the paper would cover the waste in Government, we wouldn't have to tax the business so much and they might actually hire and grow. I own a business and more than 60% of the profit goes to the Government. Sounds like a lot left....40 percent profit? Out of $800,000 in revenue, 680,000 went to payroll and the payroll tax, 90,000 to the Fed, local and state and 30,000 was left. Still sound like a lot? Try working 16 hours a day 7 days a week. Complaining? no, I would be fine if the lazy unemployed bums and welfare abusing folks would get off their ass. Why won't they? Why should they? They are doing fine with Gov money, phones, cheese, DHHS, pills, healthcare, housing, wait....why am I working? Oh yea, to keep the bums in cigarettes.

Hello

"The One"...Yeap you're "the one" alright. The one that's full of it. Here's why 60% of your profit goes to the government. Right? So, out of the $800,000 you claimed IN REVENUE 60% of that is $480 leaving you with only 320,000 to pay payroll. You couldn't even make payroll IF you're telling the truth. I think you're not. Because a) you're full of it or b) you can't manage a company for s(h)it. Which one is it? heck I will even give you a c) you scammed the government to make payroll. You MUST be reported to the IRS. You're not the owner of Aunt Betsy's are you? Quit your b(i)tchn and get a life. MY GOD. Lincolnton sucks because it's a bunch of redneck trailer trash people, like yourself, who want nothing more than a handout. GET LOST YOU TROLL.

Anyway...
Slight update on that Dollar General remodel it appears that they are only going to the window just before the handicap entrance. The yellow signs are only over the windows leading up to the ramp.
This could mean that only half of the empty space will be used...which is kind of a bummer as it implys the very end will still be empty. I was kind of thinking they could have remodel a corner entrance to match some of the single Dollar Generals.
