Quemado Man Planning Convenience Store, Gas Station
“We have a pretty valley, and this is a fine place to raise a family”
Tommy Padilla, 55, stood beside his truck and horse trailer, observing the cars and trucks slowly moving along Highway 60 in Quemado on a warm spring morning.
"Did you know Highway 60 is actually a coast-to-coast roadway?" Padilla said.
Speaking in a measured, thoughtful tone, Padilla pointed out the construction activity on his 3/4-acre lot fronting Highway 60.
"This lot sits on the corner of California and Second Street. California is the name of Highway 60 through Quemado," he said. Read more
