I live in the East Mountains and would love to see the pictures that KRQE has on the Trigo Fire. But I have Dial-Up Internet Service (like many of us in the East Mountains)
Can't view photos on dial-up - been trying to move from one photo to another - it takes close to 15-20 minutes to move from one photo to another You need to remember a lot of the East Mountains does not have access to the "faster" internet services and some of us simply can't afford it. So any dial-up users are handicapped and can't view the photos of a tragedy that is affecting their neighborhood. |

Would someone kindly give me an "official" name for Sherwood Road and Ten Pines Road? When I search Google or Yahoo! maps, I only find Robin Hood Rd., Friar Tuck, and then A003, A008, A009. What is the county road designation for these places?

Last winter Qwest installed DSL COs in the East Mtns. Its worth a shot to contact them.

Sherwood Road is not correct. The neighborhood is called Sherwood Forest -- hence, the names like "Robin Hood" and "Friar Tuck." As for the A003, A008, and A009 -- those are the actual names of the roads.
If you past this url into your broswer and zoom in, you can see the actual roads in relation to where everything is. The bend first bend in State Hwy 55, as it travels west is the location of Tajique. From there, the next town is Torreon. http://geomac.usgs.gov/viewer/viewer.htm... Hope this helps!

I'd like to know why no one is commenting on the fact that the Trigo fire "jumped the lines" mostly because the fire fighters were starting new "clean-up" fires within the perimeter. It was one of those fires that actually jumped the fire lines. If the clean-up fires had not been started, it is highly likely that we would not have the Type 1 fire that is now raging in the mountains and destroying homes. Reporters keep saying that the wind caused the fire to rage out of control, however, the fire did not kick up very much in any of the other areas that are still burning -- only in the areas where the clean-up fires were started.
