What do you know about the Bearcat being shut down for non-payment of taxes? That's not that big of a deal. Maybe we can all pitch in a little extra and bail the place out. Where else can we get a good breakfast in Booneville? Why did the Blackboard Cafe shut down? Too many people go to Ft. Smith to eat out.

I don't know how true it is, but I heard a story a long time ago about some liquor licenses in south Logan, maybe Booneville in particular.

Story had it that after prohibition, there were 3 licenses sold to people in Booneville. After a while, the churches bought the three of them from the people that had originally got them. Now the churches, I don't know which ones-cause this was all a story I heard-are holding these licenses and ain't letting them go. The devil ain't in the "Fooz-ball" it's in the liquor!

On the Bearcat restaurant- I hear it is because of dirtiness. Too many instances of the roach.

How long untill the place is sold off? Is the owner going to be able to pay the back taxes and re-open? Where else can a person get a real breakfast in Boooneville?

yes the bearcat had a good breakfast, and lunch was good most of the time but thier dinner service is horrid. not to mention that the interior is so unpleasant. there are many things wrong with that place and i'm surprised it had gone down so much.

we use to eat there at least 3 times a week. but now we haven't in over 6 months. the food was never consistant. you would get a different tasting item each time.

what someone needs to do is buy it, remodel it a little, new carpet and paint would do wonders and get some good cooks that at least could follow a recipe so that the dish tastes the same each time.

i hope it doesn't sit there too long. we have been going over to rogerland in paris. they keep it simple and don't over complicate it. thier buffet is great on the weekend and they have great ribs.

whoever takes it over or if jake gets caught up, they need to strip down the menu, do a little cleaning up, and get some people in there that don't look like they are straight out of a meth lab working for him. it should not be that difficult to serve some good southern cooking here at that location adn do well. not to mention that whoever is taking over, if a customer makes a comment about his meal, don't get mad at them, just fix the problem.

K.I.S.S.(Keep It Simple Stupid) words to live by.

Maybe the same people that control the gasoline prices in town can operate the Bearcat. Then we can pay 10% more for our breakfast and buffet. The local McD charges more than in Ft. Smith. If you like paying 10% more for your gasoline, then you'll love eating out in Booneville.

If it had to happen sure wish it could have been a couple of years ago, before the coffee drinkers
worked up BO into running for school board. Sure would have saved everybody a lot of trouble .
Where's the town gossip going to originate from now? Where's that bunch going to stir up trouble? And where oh where is BO going to have an audience?

What's the latest with the Bearcat? Any chance of re-opening anytime soon? Where is there to eat a good breakfast in Booneville now? Where are the "coffee drinkers" now?

Greenwood has good food. Glad it's coming back.
