So you think the government has the right to tell religious organizations how to run their schools, hospitals and stuff?
When a religious institution chooses to operate a business it must follow the business laws of the land.

The world is vastly overpopulated. Need to cull about half of Asia and Africa. Technology is great but its negative effect is when machinery and computers do the work of hundreds. We need to kick out the illegals, and get manufacturing jobs back in the US to help lower unemployment. The US doesnt need anymore people, we dont need 3rd world growth rate of 22%. Most westernized countries have very low or negative growth rates.
I pretty much agree, although I wouldn't look just outside the US for culling. We have a lot of intentionally stupid people here who like being that way because they are a bunch of lazy useless guttersnipes. Many immigrants are extremely smart and shouldn't be discouraged from immigrating. Immigration is a good thing, but it has its limits too.

I'm not implying you maintain that immigrants are worthless, nor am I saying it either, I'm just pointing out (as I'm sure you meant) that we have our own internal problems that need to be addressed too.

Bottom line - ignorance is addressable, stupid is forever.

Obama's 'Act of Supremacy' Against the Catholic Church Just the Beginning
..
COMMENTARY | President Barack Obama's attempt to go all Henry VIII on the Roman Catholic Church took a predictable but strange turn when he offered what he called a compromise concerning his edict that the Church renounce its opposition to birth control and abortion.
According to the Huffington Post, Catholic Church run hospitals, schools and charities will no longer be required to provide insurance to its employees that include birth control, including the morning after bill, and sterilization. Instead all insurance companies will be required to offer these services. Of course it is a difference that makes no difference, as Catholic Church run organizations will still have to provide that insurance with no alternatives allowed.
Oddly enough, the American Catholic bishops are not buying the deal, according to the Wall Street Journal. They prefer to bitterly cling to their religious doctrine.
Obama surrogates like Jack Lew are casting the argument as one about the right of women to have birth control and other services. That is not just the right to access such things, but to have them given for "free." That itself is a pernicious principle that if taken to its logical conclusion would have the government mandating all sorts of things it feels that the people should have, whether they want them or not, to be paid for by other people.
Obama's version of the "Act of Supremacy" is a little different than that of Henry VIII. King Henry used his need to divorce his wife to seize control of the Church, taking its assets, and making himself religious as well as temporal leader in England. Obama is not about to make himself Supreme Head of the Church in America. His approach is not to seize ownership of the Catholic Church. Instead he proposes that it be required to use its resources and to, in effect, believe things according to his desires.
It is an approach that he would extend to every aspect of American society. Technically, under Obama's vision, private property will still exist, but only if it is used for the purposes the government mandates.
Even more pernicious, private belief that runs contrary to the government will not be allowed. There will be no loyalty but to the state. The road leads to fascism and should not be gone down, if America is to remain America.
We ought to tax the catholic church. In this state 76% of births are illegitimate, and the studies point to birth control taught in churches as the main cause. No one stops the screwing, only the birth control.

We ought to make them go ahead and pay for our extra expense for their religion.

Actually, most "immigrants", are illegal ,and most of those are hispanic, and score only 4 points over retarded, which is why ABQ schools keep giving money for instruction, but have little to show, in addition to bad administration too.

In 1990, only 1/3rd were hispanic ,now two thirds are ,that accounts for the extra expense, and little to show for it.

We have limits on immigration for a reason. Each one of those immigrants costs us more than we get back, in crime, welfare, and lowered labor pay.

Immigration ought to be legal, and the laws do limit it for that reason.

But as for being intelligent, that is simply not true now for the late 12 years.

Well, going along with your logic here a few well placed nukes would do the job pretty quickly. Say taking out most of the Islamic countries, China, Russia and Venezuela...awww heck Cuba as well. Viola...no more overpopulation.

And then annex Mexico.

{Sigh} How the hellified heck do you people sleep at night? First you complain that the churches don't do enough, then run the hospitals and stuff as charities reaching out to those in need but then you want to make it harder on them and therefore destroying the help they provide. Decide already. If it wasn't for Christians you wouldn't have much of the hospitals, and outreaches to foster children and adopt and the current universities would have been non-existent.

{Sigh} How cold hearted do you people have to be to try and hinder this kind of work? I mean seriously.

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof.
A church that takes on activities of a secular nature, accepts secular monies and hires people of any religious denomination to include atheists is not a religious organization, its a business masquerading as one.
Obama is not prohibiting any church from exercising their right to practice their religion. The issue deals with churches operating businesses that are primarily secular in nature but carry a church affiliated label.
So healing the sick in a hospital is secular in nature? Heck ZIA if that is true Jesus was the most secular person ever.

Seriously, are you listening to yourself?

Yes, they are not worshipping God, they are making a buck, so they are supposed to be treated like anyone else. I'm sick of supporting catholic illegitimacy in NM.

This would include Presbyterian Hospitals, Adventist Hospitals, any Christian hospital not JUST Catholic Hospitals.

And since when are Christian hospitals making money. Seriously, have any of you thought your comments through?

How is that racist? I'm assuming the poster was white (or even maybe a 4th generation Latino). Hispanics/Latinos are under the Caucasian Catagory as far as census demographics.
The word you are looking for is Ethnically Biggotted or Intolerant. It's just like a white person who can hate and say crap about Germans or Italians or Pollocks.
Ever been to South Florida? The Cubans down there cant stand the Puerto Ricans or Mexicans. Puerto Ricans cant stand Dominicans or Mexicans.
Mexicans dont like Hondurans and Guatemalans.

The Racism Card is so overplayed and worn out now.
It no longer holds power.
People need to learn the differences between true Racism, Bigotry, Discrimination, Prejudice and Intolerance.

Daily Horoscope for June 2

Capricorn

You feel like overindulging yourself in some way today, and why not? Throw caution to the wind and eat your way through a big bar of chocolate, or have a retail therapy session that leaves you reeling from the amount of money you've spent. There's a definite chance you could get carried away and tell a whopper of a story that has little resemblance to what really happened. What on earth has got into you?
