old school, Hal and others too disturbed: "American" is given to any citizen of the whole continent of this Earth called North America, Central America and South America. Americans ALL not just those born in the United States of America. Hawaii and the other US adopted chunks of land only become "HONORARY AMERICANS" by having been granted citizenship of a capitalist nation. That's the way it is. Americans all.

Let's finish this argument w/absorbing Central and South America, along w/Mexico and share the wealth...it is apparent that these countries cannot defend nor support themselves. Turn over the governments to the USA and use the vast resources available from the fallen ranks....no need to argue, fight, die for something that will never be resolved by fences...

So are US citizens called United Statesian? I've never heard anyone from other North American countries call themselves American, unless they come here illegally and say everybody in the US is an "illegal immigrant", then they call themselves American. So are we just being racist and politically incorrect when we say: Canadians, Mexicans, Hondurans, Panamese, Guatemalan, etc. Seriously, what do you call a citizen of the US?

What does America represent and stand for? I don't think anyone that lives here in the US can honestly say you are American of origin. To sit around and argue who does get medical treatment and who doesn't is pathetic. Everyone deserves and second chance in life and no one should play God. Let this be your child or love one and see how the tables turn.

Let this be your child or love one and see how the tables turn. The problem is, as long as we provide free schools, free hospitals for all of Mexico, the people of Mexico will never build any of these themselves. It's a very foolish and stupid and discriminatory policy to let foreigners come and take everything they want at no charge while Americans are bankrupted being forced to provide it. Americans must attend a school in their own district, the district they pay taxes but anyone from Mexico can just do as he pleases, even live in Mexico paying zero taxes and using schools over there. Same with hospitals, they pay zero, not building their own, and not contributing to ours.

Judas Priest: Funny you should ask what do UNITED STATES citizens call themselves? Most Latin American countries also call themselves the United States of...Mexico, etc. leaving the USA with a quandary. "American" covers a lot. In Mexico you hear "estadunidense" but then again not quite truthful. Long ago in a history book it was stated that the United States of America is left with NO NAME, not even funny. Call it what you will...
