"A 9-year-old female, two 8-year-old females and a 6-year-old female, all of Alamogordo, were referred to the Juvenile Probation and Parole Office for breaking and entering and criminal damage in the 1300 block of Maple on May 24. All were released to their parents."

It begs the question..."Where was the adult supervision?" The parents should be charged with neglect as well.

That wall behind Margo's is a mess. I've pulled up to the intersection in the Walmart parking lot many times trying to get across or make a left to the stop light. People are coming from 1st Street and it seems like very fast, maybe in a hurry to get to Walmart. But you can't see the cars coming until you pull out into the street and then hear comes somebody seemingly very fast and they have to stop.
They honk, call you an idiot, throw you the bird, etc.. That wall needs to come down and shut traffic cross traffic off.

I agree. I've always thought it was a safety hazzard. Only tried to turn there once - that was enough! The traffic coming from 1st does have the right-of-way, and even if you are driving slowly coming off 1st, you don't see a car trying to come out of there (behind Margo's) until you are nearly right there! At the very least, they should take some of the height off that section of the wall.

I agree. This is utterly ridiculous. Doesn't anyone realize when your 8 year old leaves the house? My son is 2 and all doors have extra locks on them. Where is the caregiver?

I have a good idea ,lets put a traffic there. No that won't work than people will run the light. The speed is posted 10 mph but people can't read so I guess pepole need to SLOW DOWN Wal mart will still be there when you get there.I was there yesterday and saw this man and his son walking thur the parking lot looking around not watching where they were going. I stopped the kid about 14 walked into my car and the dad told me to watch where I was going. I was stopped. Thats the kind of people we have in Good old Alamo. People nee to SLOW DOWN...

And I have seen drivers come out from that stop sign without stopping.

I have an 8 yr old and a 6 yr old also, and call me over protective, but my kids are not allowed to step foot off my yard without me with them. How are these parents not in the logs for Child neglect?
I don't get it.

Two things, one being I was obeying the flashing light speed limit in school zone on Washington and one small girl walked slowly across the street. The reason she walking slowly because it was hard for her to select the right song on her Ipod. Doesn't her parents realize many drunks and electronic users drive their car in an altered state and do not realize the laws they are breaking. If I saw my kid acrossing the street concentrating so hard on her electronics, wait a minute she has electronics unsupervised?

The 2nd thing is, an adult was walking in the parking lot trying to dial a phone and walk at the same time while crossing my path. I tapped my horn to get her to pay attention and she said very snotty-like, "pedistrians have the right of way". And I said unsnotty-like, "yea, but you'd be dead". How can you argue with that. Yeah she has the right of way, but does that matter when someone comes hauling down an isle also in an altered state, she can't defend herself. Man, if it's coming, I wanna see it.

Children in Oregon or any other elementary school are not suppose to bring electronic devices to school. So once again, this is a case of ABSENTEE parents.

That's right. You are supposed to strip your child every day before you send them to school or you are not a good parent.
We're talking kids 11 and under. YES, you should be more attentive to children this age.

Daily Horoscope for June 2

Virgo

You're feeling restless and need to introduce as much variety into your day as possible. However, you'll want this to be on your own terms, and you certainly won't like it if plans are changed without your consent or you feel you've lost control of the situation. Try to take everything in your stride, otherwise you'll end up feeling exhausted and frazzled.
