This poll is nothing more than to add fuel to the fire. Gays and most churches don't agree, so eveyrone just go on their merry way and live your life.

You are correct about fueling the fire. No, churches will never agree on homosexuality, but I find it ironic that they preach God's love for His children, yet condemn God's children.

The Christians are at a huge disadvantage because throwing the Hail Mary is the only play they know, and it is seldom successful. The homosexuals, however, play multiple positions and almost always get it deep the end zone. My prediction: Gays over Thumpers, 69 to 7.

phoney poll from this loser. A true Christian doesn't hate. There is no conflict between being a follower of Christ and respecting His creation.

Christians are NOT bigots, we are taught to love all of GOD's children, but loving the child is NOT the same as loving the sin of the child.

I can understand why the terminology escapes you. We are all "Children of Christ". Yes, compared to GOD's wisdom, knowledge and Holy Teachings, I am a child. To us, marriage is much more than just a 'civil institution'. You think you corner the market on what marriage is for everyone, well you don't. Hopefully, you can rise up just a little to see someone else's point of view.

. to take your own advice on that. It certainly is a civil institution in America and churches are free to create their own rules and definitions for themselves, not others.

In fact, the homosexual community has outed itself as the most bigoted and prejudiced of most minorities in the world. You are projecting. Society gets to decide what marriage is, what is normal, what is natural and right ... not minorities. If you don't like science, natural selection, or evolution, then you need to take that up with your psychologists. The traditions and teachings of society come from the people. Laws come from the people. Culture comes from the people. And you are declared yourself an bigoted enemy of the people, because you think your "lifestyle" gives your special privileges and entitlements. Society can care less how you spend your private time. But you don't get to change culture and traditions to suit your selfishness ... no one does.

Hopefully, you can rise up just a little to see someone else's point of view. Agreed, but know your history to fight this battle. In ancient times, amongst the Romans and female-hating Greeks, marriage was indeed a civil affair, not a religious one. Because, women were considered property. Christianity changed that, and removed the marriage contract, and replaced it with sanctity and love, not a piece of paper that enslaved women to man. Women are not property to be used as men wish, thus, we are against abortion, contraception, and anything that objectifies, belittles, and condemns women to the pleasure of men. Let the homosexuals enslave themselves to civil unions. But marriage was taken away from the State, though we have let the State take control back. That is a violation of the Separation of Church and State, and we should have never let, over a century ago, government be involved at all. Knowledge is power. The Separation Clause has been used against us, but it was our greatest weapon to regulate control government. Use it, and take back the Ark of the Covenant from the Philistines.

Well put,and I don't disagree. I'm not trying to justify marriage from the beginning of man though, only in this day and age. I do appreciate the info though. It is helpful.

But you don't get to change culture and traditions to suit your selfishness ... no one does. You are the selfish one, if you want to go there. Civil institutions change all the time and there are always cultures and traditions that perpetuate injustice and those who don't want to change. Read your history - look at the real world.
