President Obama on Friday backed off a plan requiring religious organizations to provide free contraceptive coverage, shifting the responsibility to insurers in a move he claimed would preserve religious liberty as well as "basic fairness" for women who want the coverage.

Well, I'm glad he came to his senses on this. I don't think we (as Americans) need to shoulder to costs of birth control or viagra (and the like). These options should be funded by the individuals that wish to use them.

Time to tax churches and time for candyass republicunts to post under their own names. Why should I subsidize someone else's religious delusions?

Perhaps you have not heard the old saying "There is no free lunch." Somebody pays for your freebies and most of us are tired of doing it.

Don't worry! You don't pay for them. Your delusion is well known to readers on Topix.

control is pretty basic health care for most women in the work force. Not equivalent to Viagra.

It is not something the work place needs to be involved in.

in America we have a tradition of handling our health insurance as a benefit through the work place.

You prefer some other system?

Single payer health care? Sure would take a burden off employers. Perhaps they would pay their employees better.

What are you talking about, religious freedom?
Religions are free to preach whatever they want, but they should not dictate what or what not their employees are offered on their health plan. Can you imagine that some religions forbid blood transfusions, or some even medical care. So under that "religious freedom" bullscheisser, would they be able to deny medical coverage for blood transfusions, or ANY medical treatment whatsoever?
Be real, the OVERWHELMING MAJORITY of American Catholic women use birth control. They want to have access to birth control Rx in their health plans. Be real. At a time when Americans are having enough of a hard time feeding their families as they are, do you really want to forbid access to birth control methods and create another baby boom? Aren't there enough kids living in poverty already, especially in New Mexico?! An employer's religious beliefs should not stand in the way medical treatment/preventive medicine, etc. for the working stiff, especially during economic hard times where employees can't go and shop for employers who don't practice bigotry in administering their health plan benefits.

Nah, folks like you probably want to may MORE in the way of Aid to Families with Dependent Children, Medicaid, higher taxes for school due to population growth, etc. Yeah, that's the ticket.
Let's save a couple of bucks here on the front end- what the heck- we'll only wind up paying tens of thousands on the back end! Wow.
No wonder we get the kinds of idiots we get in public office in every party!

Now I have to disagree but to each his own.

Most of your very shot postings are of a troll nature.

Truthfully I think you get a big kick out of how others reply to your short sort of insane nature postings.

And you obviously get a charge out of how it gets some to reply back to you, namely me.

Gives me a break from working all the time considering I work from home.

LOL, so instead, the rest of us ought to shoulder the burden of the catholic 76% who don't use birth control, but don't stop humping, either?

I'm sick of funding Sheehan and his cronies, and their religious beliefs.

Daily Horoscope for June 2

Sagittarius

You're feeling ultra optimistic today, which is great for summoning up the necessary energy to do what has to be done. But don't let it go to your head and convince you that you're capable of performing miracles. If you aren't behaving in this way you'll have to cope with someone who has a swollen head and thinks they're the cat's whiskers.
