Throw them in jail now. They'll never repay it.

There is such widespread abuse of the public assistance programs. The families who are working hard and need a little help can't get it but the dead beats who sit on their hind end all day get it all. I don't think anyone should get something for nothing. Make them ALL work for it. If I want more money, I have to work more hours. I don't get a raise for having more kids- why should they. Having a child is a choice. If you make it- you should darn well be able to afford it on your own. I don't have more kids of my own because I can't afford to. If I weren't paying for everyone else's kids maybe I could afford another one of my own. I have no problem with a hand up when someone needs it- but we are just making it a way of life for so many. Now generations of them have no role models to look at to learn how to get out there and become a productive part of society.

The welfare system has always been nothing more than a cluster-f*ck. It never dawned on any of the politicians who allowed it to continue that there's a problem with it when there are 3rd generations (and sometimes more) still living in "public housing", or women getting impregnated numerous times by different donors while collecting welfare, most collecting free money for years and years. Welfare was supposed to be "temporary" fix. Never made any sense.

So, after 2 years, they can lie again on their application and get more "help". Why aren't they banned for life??? Does anyone know...are there any limits to how long someone can get public assistance?

How are they going to be able to repay $25,000 or more in two years? That's laughable. Even if these women have excellent jobs, which I doubt, it's pretty hard to set aside ten grand a year to pay your debts. And then the government is willing to let them go back on the program if they make good? For what? So they can steal more money from honest working people? What a load of Sh!t.

This person took pics of this awesome vision. One of the pics taken were in the Sun News of the Silver City district though. And two others saw this. Call up the Sun News to investigate. I remember the pic placed on a small corner of the front page that I believe read "solar flare in Mimbres" which is about 25 miles east of Silver City. Agreed. I can't believe that they would ever be allowed back on welfare after being found guilty of welfare fraud. What a joke.

I hope these 2 are just a start. I can almost bet that at least 40% of people receiving state benefits are doing so fraudulently.

I'd love to see inspections for people on any type of assistance. Surprise visits to their homes. Look at their TV's, cable TV packages, if they're smokers, what kinda food their buying, what kinda clothes their wearing, the type of phones they have. And limits... a year, max.

Are stupid, I work at this very job and I can tell you that this is about the most stupid thing I have ever heard, with all the people on assistance do you really think we approve cases to keep our job? Don't know where you heard this or came up with this idea but you are dead wrong, why don't you come work for a week to see what we really do!

Sad thing is at tax time they will get a ton of credits! I knew a girl that lived of the state for everything. Come tax time she was encouraged to file and got over 3 grand back just in low income credits. Me, with a job and 2 kids got about 2 grand back, go figure!

Correct me if I'm wrong but when Clinton was president there was supposed to be a 5 year limit on benefits. Also you were required to be actively looking for work or enrolled in school or job training. Whatever happened to that program?

These women should no longer be able to receive any benefits. This is a system that is supposed to help people when they need it. The obvious abuse of it means they do not need it and they are willing to go to great lengths in order to obtain it. Therefore, many people that needed did not get because it went to individuals that abused it.

They vote. So the politicians make sure they don't get too much reform in the welfare state. If you threw a fraction of the cheaters off the welfare roles they and their families, extended families, families-by-marriage (not many in this culture) and the rest of the whole-fam-damlies would vote you out of office. Half the economy of New Mexico is for handing out jobs and welfare to the other half of the economy which is the rest of the family not on welfare. It's a great system. Oh, plus the housing, feeding and medical needs of all the family members in prison and their cousins we pay to watch them.

You're in the mood to spend money on a favourite hobby or pastime today, so take care if you're supposed to making every penny count at the moment. The temptation to treat yourself to something that you'll undoubtedly enjoy will be too strong to resist, and the trouble is that you might not restrict yourself to just one item either. It looks like being an extravagant day!
