Jake wrote: <quoted text> Hillary sat on the board of directors at Wal-Mart for several years. Wal-Mart is famous for their efforts to keep unions out of their stores. So I'd say Hillary is about as pro-union as Sam Walton. Or perhaps she is pro-union when it suits her political purposes. you may be right. i remember hearing something about that. oh well,we're gonna be in for one helluva ride later. catch ya around!

Looks like Unions are putting more workers out of work. Heck I seen some dummy with a big sign outside Blount Memroial hospital today, something about unfair labor ? Guess they are upset about money. I know someone working there as a RN, You know someone who whent to school and is now getting paid for being able to do more then just anyone hired off the street. If your really upset, get yourself an education, then you will earn what you already think your worth.

I mean, it is documented that patient care suffers when these labor disputes happen. And if you don't care that someone might die while you're wandering around out there with your sign, then why the heck are you working in a hospital in the first place?

I just kind of figured people in the medical professions would be different. I mean, aren't nurses supposed to be caring people? I would have thought they might try to work their grievances out without going out on strike, so that patient care doesn't suffer.

Yes it is a different situation, most of them are careing people they are also like everyone elce with bills to pay and kids to support.Part of it is money, but it is also working 16 hour shifts 6 and 7 days a week .Patient care is suffering greatly because of that.If I am ever in the hospital I hope the nurse taken care of me hasen't been on duty that many hours.Exhaustion plays a big part in mistakes being made.

I have a lot of respect for those who cross the picket line in that situation. They are saying that their patients come first. I would definitely want someone like that caring for me if I was in the hospital. Too bad they can't just give the good ones a raise, and replace the rest of them. :-P
