GE Hiring Process

I have applied online for a position and got an email that said that I am being considered for it. Is there anyway to contact HR to check the status of my application and to inquire about setting up an interview? I would appreciate any advice. Thanks.

GE doesn't even understand the process. You can ask 10 different office people and get 10 different answers. Good luck.

GE is going to hire at least twenty people within the next few weeks. No layoff, over four million invested in local plant just in December. Be proud, GE is here to stay.

I went to the company website and applied for a position that I had the background an education to fill. I hope that thy are about to do some hiring! It would be a blessing!

Yep, heard the same thing lay offs over time, going to phase plant out over next few years corp moving more work to non union AL, MS, SC - damn union.

Heard GE's new Plant manager will be cutting overtime and employees quickly. Who is the new plant manager and where did he come from ?

They are hiring 25 people in the next 3 weeks. You have to apply online. No applications through the human resources office. The majority of these hires will be negros.

Its amazing how people outside the plant seems to THINK they know whats going on with G.E. Thers no layoffs coming anyway soon there hiring about 25 more people. And yes they would like to cut some OT out but they cant cut it completely out.

Are they hiring through the apps they took last winter? Had an interview in August, never heard back from them. Didn't know if I should try to fill out another app or not.
