Drove over there yesterday because I was curious (after seeing this post)how much of the old house is left. I wouldn't dare try to go in it because it looks very unstable. It really is a shame.

I ran out of gas while delivering the newspaper a long time ago.Had to walk down that long gravel lane to the house to use the phone.I had always wanted to go in it to begin with, when I walked in the door,it just reeked of nostalgia.Beautiful staircase.Rooms seemed a little small for such a big house, but I guess there were a lot of rooms.I have wanted to live there since I was a wee one.I suppose I will never see that dream come true.

I walked around the house a couple years ago, didn't go in the basement but the main floor and second story. It's in really bad shape, the porch and roof are falling apart. The foundation and walls seem stable though, I certainly had no problems walking around in the house. The kitchen is completely gone, here are probably 6 layers of peeling wallpaper and the rooms are all small and choppy. Very pretty wooden staircase but only one bathroom that I can remember and it was done in the 40s or there about. It's no mansion by today's standards, not really all that big, and the bedrooms are very very small. It is beautiful but would need too much work to salvage, and the way it is laid out is really awkward for how people live today. It's a shame it is in such bad shape.

White plains, turn off farmers crossing to another road, can't remember the name of it. Old white house with wrap around porch roof has fallen down in spots.
