Is Madison rich in history. My family first located in Madison in the 1700's and I recently discovered that it was first named, "Tobacco Stick". What is the history of that name, the date it was instated, and the life of the original old families of that era; the day to day lives and hardships of the beginnings of the town? My parents moved from Maryland in the late 1930's and I have lost the richness of that society. Perhaps the knowledge of that loss has spirred me to rediscover it, to share it with my grandchildren. Sometimes,'too close could loose what far away yearns for'.
