Spend money to tear some down then spend more to build new ones. Ridiculous wastful spending at it's finest. No wonder the government is in the financial mess that it is.

All this "save the fish" enviromental crap is just that. The fish are better off now than they were before many of the dams were built. Take the recent lawsuit over Putah Creek as an example. The environazi's were able to convince a bleeding heart judge to force year round releases of water from Berryessato keep a worthless fish alive in the creek near Davis. How about a little touch of reality folks, that portion of the creek was bone dry for up to six months at a time before the dam was built. What did the fish do then?

Build build build dams dams dams. We need the water water water for us us us. Screw the fishies.

Send the bulk of the water to Southern and Central California were real people produce the fruits we enjoy here, and take long hot showers with the rest of it.

The dams should have been built 30 to 40 years ago when they were first discussed. A little off topic but the same can be said for the proposed nuclear power plants.
