The 7:10 ferry out of larkspur had to turn around because the bay was too rough. The waves were huge.

So many drivers do not have their headlights on. The law is if your windshield wipers are on you MUST have your headlights on.

Not surprised since only about 1 in 100 use their turn signals these days.

I saw two streets were closed on my way home. Be safe, everyone. If you don't need to be out there, I advise to stay home.

Among the ridiculous things I've said in the past as justification for my decision to crowd a family of four into a Mill Valley shack is that the weather in Marin is superior. This is a perfect example of my logic, as hurricane force winds and flooding (did I tell you that my hermit shack is right on the edge of a flood plain?) once again visit Mill Valley. I'm such a retard.

Much of Mill Valley is, more often than not, about as cold and foggy as San Francisco. The weather is much better a little bit further north where the fog bank is held back by Mount Tamalpais.

...AND turn my headlights on when it rains - I must be 1 in a 1000!

Oh yeah, I don't talk on a cell phone while driving - make that 1 in a million!

why is it always the idiots who are driving the broken down junkers from the early 1980s (usually with a cell phone to their ear) who are in the fast lane driving 80mph during the apex of the storm?

I would'nt use/own a cellphone if My life depended on it, but can talk World-wide on the HF bands using the same amount of power that a lightbulb uses.
Today I counted how many People actually adhered to the headlights in the rain law, and came up with under 40% of Drivers in My area.

A Mercedes S500 traveling at excessive speed flew by me on my left side just north of Freitas Parkway. He then ran into everyone going 50 or less, decided he did not like that; quickly moved from #1 lane to #5 exit lane, then attempted to quickly move back to the fast lane.

He did not make it, whipping the wheel is not good at excessive speeds with nearly an inch of water on the freeway.

He spun several times, hit the guardrail, crunched the rear, spun, crunched the front. He was OK, and miraculously everyone was on their toes and missed him as he was spinning.

He limped into the truck scale with wheels bent up under, and the entire muffler/header falling off onto the truck scale.

SLOW DOWN, the rest of us would like to not die due to your rush to get somewhere.

Um, the 7:10 ferry took on water, and for a few moments, the front end was tipping in the water. Dark windows on a ferry are never good.

The captain announced that everyone move to the back (as ballast) to keep the boat righted. Everyone quickly did so.

We were very close to SF Ferry Building; the decision to turn around was very odd, instead of going to closest port.

How this escaped the news is beyond me.

By the way, I've ridden the ferry for year, and this is the scariest it's ever been. I've never had a ferry turn around mid route.
