Nothing is wrong with colloidal silver, as long as it is made properly, and used properly. Its properties are amazing and those who know how to make it and use it properly know this. The cases of Algyria are so minimal but the reasons are the same to the very few who have encountered it. They make it with tap water, or spring water, and drink way more than necessary, and they should not drink it on a daily basis in large quanities, then go out into the sun, this causes a photo reaction to the silver mixed with other minerals and salts found in most water.(silver nitrate ingested can cause algyria, not colloidal silver)

Colloidial silver is properly made with steam distilled water, taken in quanities of a couple of ounces daily, when needed to deal with infections, yeast, mold or bacterias, works wonders! It is safe for pets, plants, and cleaning. It should be tested for strength before taken to make sure its in the proper peramaters. It can be purchased online already tested from reputable companies.

And it, the BLue Man effect is curable, take a while and takes some medications, but it is reversable. Some one needs to let this man know!
And the media needs to stop spreading propaganda tainted to scare the public! Do your own homework, dont always believe what you hear or see!

I personally have used CS for over 15 years, I'm not at all effected by turning blue, but I havent had an antibiotic in that time, nor have I been sick. Sorry FDA, you lose on this deal.

Could this man be blue because of inbreedin in his family? I have read about a family known as the Blue Fugates of Kentucky. I mean, I hate to suggest that, but could it be possible?

I still find it absolutely amazing that the news media will find two or three people who get this benign but unsightly skin condition out of the literally millions of regular colloidal silver users in the U.S. and Canada, and then broadcast it from the rooftops as if it were the norm. But they won't mention the astonishing 2.2 million people who suffer serious and quite often life-threatening adverse reactions from prescription drug use every single year, or the 100,000 Americans KILLED each year from prescription drug use, which is 30 times more than all of the U.S. troops killed in the Iraq war each year! Let’s see now: two or three people turning blue in 20 years from excessive colloidal silver usage, versus 100,000 people a year being flat-out put into their graves by common drugs their doctors prescribed them. Which is more newsworthy? I’ll leave that up to you to decide.

What is newsworthy is a person so stupid that instead of seeing a dermatologist or using OTC ointments to treat a temporary skin condition, he instead takes basically snake oil and permanently makes his skin much worse than it ever could have been before. Then he not only continues to use the poison that did this to him, he NEVER seeks medical attention. Then this rocket scientist complains that he had to move because people in Oregon were "mean" to him. I guess it's not easy to go through life looking like Papa Smurf. But are we supposed to feel sorry for someone who lives in a developed nation that has modern medicine and health care available, but chooses a snake oil concoction over scientifically proven medicine? I reserve my sympathy for that man who lives in a muddy village in a third world nation who has such a bad case of warts that he has "tree roots" growing all over his body. Now that man deserves our sympathy. Not some yahoo who should know better.
I will believe and follow the advice of the FDA over any snake oil salesperson who posts on a message board. Why? Because I have a brain and I choose to use it.

The FDA is not our friend. I'm a healthy man in my 40's who never gets a flu shot and I refuse to succomb to modern medicine. Most people I know with health problems has poor diet habits. Every flu season I proudly support silver water over any flu shot. I have been drinking my own homemade silver water for 2 years and not had so much as a sniffle. I definetley use distilled water and pure silver. For better health, stay away from commercial processed foods, drink water and juice only, and use common "natural" sense when you choose what to eat.

Amen, Mr. Davis, amen! The medical industry doesn't want us to truly understand how we can take control of our own health, because there is no profit for them unless we're clueless and sick. That's literally the bottom line. When those supposedly charged with overseeing our well being become predators of profit, we're doomed personally and collectively if we don't opt out if we possibly can. As Mr. Davis pointed out, this doesn't mean doing nothing. It means using your brain and intuitive abilities innate in every human to honestly evaluate your diet and lifestyle and then do the sometimes hard work of implementing any needed changes. Whatever we set our minds to, we can do. It's just that most of us have been content to believe others are doing it for us while we shop and watch American Idol.

As far as the credibility of c s or herbal supplements, these are the basis of modern pharmaceuticals. Since herbs are easy to grow, the pharma companies had to depart from that path if profits were to increase. The propaganda and slander that was part of that process continues to this day despite the fact that studies done in hospitals have shown the benefit of silver in various uses as well as garlic shown to kill even MRSA. So much conflicting information from various biased sources is also another reason to be diligent, honest, and intuitive. After all, your life and your quality of life depends on it.
