1 It is all about more revenue for the "guvment" and the attorneys, judges, and all the other court horror, parasites. And this is besides all of the taxes collected on the sale of alcoholic beverages!!! |

1 You might spill your drink Before you get behind the wheel, just stop & think You can take your chances But there's so much to lose Another bumpy road, There's so much wasted booze I'm not so worried About how many I kill I'm much more concerned With how much beer I spill 35% of accidents Are cause by pixilated The other 65% are not Alcohol related What does this tell us About the drunk drivers They seem to have a Better record than the sober team I'm not so worried About how many I kill I'm much more concerned With how much beer I spill With how much beer I spill With how much beer I spill |

1 "And Richmond is by no means alone in having double-digit drunken driving offenses, she said. Records indicate 66,176 Minnesota drivers have more than 10 DWIs and 19,255 have 10 offenses. Another 81,964 have at least five DWIs." "The only good thing to come out of this is no one was injured by his behavior," Kopcinski said. This time. And there will be a next time. Count on it. |

1 His license was revoked in 1977. He continued to drive and rack up more DWI's. His license was reinstated in 2008 after completing some sort of sobriety class. Myth #1 - revoking someones license prevents someone from driving and driving drunk. Myth #2 - People can be rehabilitated. I do think that people make mistakes and I believe most people don't realize how little alcohol it takes to get a DWI these days. If you don't learn from your first offense, what on earth makes you think they will learn after 10? All - lowering the legal limit has done is increase the number of convicted criminals in this state. I would like to see data that shows that alcohol related accidents and deaths have been reduced by this legislation. I am certain they have not. |

I'm all ears... How do you prevent someone from driving? Pass another law? |

1 The police don't make up the sentence. Blame the judges. Every liberal one of them. |

those are some scary numbers. This guy ain't a quitter,just say no,wonder what his auto insurance costs,if he can get any.

Part of the problem is the whole definition of the law. BAC is a very misleading thing...BUT if you're getting 5, 10 or however many DWIs I don't think it's the system and something needs to be done to keep these people off the streets.

1 I deal with drunks everyday at my work and none of them are ever remorseful until they kill someone while drunk driving, even them some of those idiots act like they've done nothing wrong. We need to more to keep them off the streets. Take their license for life on a 2nd offense. Even that would be more lienient than Europe where it's 1 and done. |
||||
If you drive without a license, why on earth would you consider purchasing insurance? Of course there is no punishment in this state for driving without insurance either. |

1 You are mistaken. The judges do not make the sentences, they merely impose the sentence. I can see that your logic is clouded by politics, specifically right wing rhetoric, because you called them "liberal" judges so I don't expect you to understand the truth. But, if you come to your senses and still want to be angry at someone you have 11 people to blame. They are the 11 who sit on the MN Sentencing Guidelines Commission. Only 3 of which are judges. The other 8 members include: a public defender, a county attorney (aka prosecutor), the commissioner of corrections, a peace officer, a parole/probation officer, and THREE members of the general public-one of which is a victim of a felony level crime. So you really need to be blaming your fellow citizens as much as you would blame a judge as they are equal on the committee that makes the sentencing guidelines. Of course, I'm sure you'll say that all those citizens are liberal too. You could also think about talking to the commissioner of public safety for setting more stringent guidelines on the license revocation/suspensions because, once again, judges do not do that. |

I think those numbers show that something is not working very well. I also think it's funny that Wisconsin is always the midwest state that gets the rap when drinking is talked about.

What were the judges thinking when he came in for his 11th, 12th, 13th DWI??? Honestly, how many second chances can a person recieve? All he recieves is a Gross Mis.?? He obviously doesnt care about the lives of ALL the other drivers on the road, so to me this guy is garbage. I think the judicial system needs to take a look at what it is they stand for. Are they really protecting us (the public) when they've reinstated his license on multiple occasions, saying this guy is a safe and responsible driver?
