Ever look at who is waiting for the bus? These two are good examples.

what does this have to do with their residency status? this can happen to anyone. their are troubled kids in all races. its sad, either way. but what is worse they are putting inocent people in danger as well that may be in the surrounding areas and with bullets flying you never know when it may be your time.

Please stop now

I know some people come one here and make these racist remarks to stir things up or because they have the anonomity of being behind a computer screen. But please stop.
This was a young man who doesn't deserve to have his death be the basis of your comments. I held his hand until they took him away and looked into his eyes and told him that he was going to be alright and now I know that I lied.
He was just a young man ... I hope he can now rest in peace.

Aren't you the first one to bring up race?? Even if Mexicans are filling up federal and state prisons at a rate faster than any other race. When you hear of crime 'near' a bus stop, you can presume the suspects are black or hispanic. Check out the LA Times homicide blog, how does it alway begin. White and Asian kids are more likely to stay out of trouble.

If the victim and the perp were both waiting at a bus stop, how was the perp able to magically come up with a SUV to use as his getaway car?

WATCHDOG -- apparently the post that was posted before mine that made comments about race and that it must have been an illegal alien has been deleted. so just to clear the air i wasnt the one to first bring it up.
i happened to be there yesterday as well. and to know that there is a young man laying almost dead on your neighberhood street that you have lived at for at least 28 years is so sad. We have never had any shooting like this before in our neighberhood. the street was so quiet, you never hear silence on our street. to see the clothes on the floor full of blood and shoes laying on the street makes you think poor guy and that poor family, i can not imagine how they are feeling right now. it is terrible for anyone to have to loose someone to violence. it shouldnt have happened. no matter where you are from to see someone die or loose a loved one it hurts so much. i agree all we could do and should do is let him rest in peace.
as far as those that are out there breaking the law, killing, etc. i dont care for them one bit no matter what nationality they are. i think it is terrible no one should take anothers live. guns are not the answer.

This is why public transportation doesn't work in LA. In other metro areas of the country, ALL citizen types use PT. But in LA only the lowlifes who can't afford a car (or whose residency status won't let them drive) ride the bus. Rode it one day while my car was in the shop. Reminded me of my overseas Air Force days, trying to get around in a poor country, wondering if I was going to reach my destination alive. Unbelievable!

Rival tagging crews? How about "criminals with different points of view who decided to use lethal force"? Nah, that doesn't sound as cute or appealing as rival tagging crews.

True, that is the popular perception of public transportation in LA. I take the Blue Line downtown almost every day, and I am happy to report that the riders are overwhelmingly quiet, polite, and reasonably considerate of their fellow passengers.

Hispanic in whittier
|
First of all This has nothing to do with race there are just as many white people, black people in gangs and killing people it just soo happen that the young man that died was hispanic!..Perhaps in our area sure the majority is hispanic but turn on the tv criminals are everywhere!!!
And for everybody that is soo quick to judge I knew this young man since he was about 7, he comes from an wonderful christian family!!! His father is an assistant pastor in a christian church in whittier his mother is a teachers aid, Born and raised in a wonderful pleasant area in La Mirada, he decided to stray away a couple of yrs ago but it was not a lack of good parenting!! He has wonderful parents and I cant imagine how hard this must be for them this being there youngest of three children and to clear up prior postings he was only 19! PLEASE LET HIM REST IN PEACE!'IM SURE ITS ALREADY HARD ENOUGH FOR HIS PARENTS TO KNOW THAT HE DIED FAR FROM BEING CLOSE TO GOD'!

And, if you read your history, whites have a history of lynchings and ethnic cleansing in this country.

I knew him since he was about 5, and Im sickend by all the negative remarks. He was in the wrong place and the wrong time. He was raised in church, you never knew him seen him grow up. His parents are grieving right now, and the killer is some where out there. Should have enough courage to turn himself in. Please stop all these ingorant remarks. Need to think of his family and friends. If anyone seen anything please do the right thing contact the authorities.

Poor Kid....
I hope they catch the person that shot him, it's unfortunate that society is so cold and uncaring, just think "what if this would happen to my child?" when there is a person out there who has no regard for human life, race, gender, religion, nationality, does not matter.
