Welcome to the real world of crap politics.
Wait until some old innocent lady gets killed like what happened in Garfield last summer. Then the creeps in suits will scramble and tell the public there's going to be new laws with heavy fines.
After the headlines fade, so do memories and it will be business as usual. The state needs to come in and evaluate every city in New Jersey.
Threaten them with loosing tax credits if they're not effectivly going after slum lords and tax cheats. Illegal apartments is not a victimless crime. Everyone pays higher taxes and sometimes as in the case of Angelina Costa who was murdered by a creep here on a 90 day work visa living a few doors away in her beloved city of Garfield in an illegal apartment. Pay attention you pathetic crooked politicians. Don't wait until it happens in your town and make believe you never knew it existed! The blood will be on your hands if it does.
