One night this week there was a wreck on 613 and they could not find the person, this took hours. I think it was a drunk that just ran from the wreck. They get called for everything - we probably need a person that is dedicated to solving home break ins, an other such crimes. This person would not need to be running all over the place arresting folks, just simply doing detective work. I know for a fact that my road is better than it was.

They can only do so much and hire so many people with the funding they have. In this entire county, are there any sheriff's substations anywhere or are they all operated out of Lucedale?

No other Law enforcement ,Cousin,Aunt,Uncle or even child of The Land owner can press or Implement charges of Trespass.... Sorry Folks it Burns my Butt!!!!!!! When it comes to trespassing around escatawpa river bridge, they should be taking a report collecting the names, ssn, etc.. of the trespassers for the property owner to sign charges at a latter date In some instances, if the owner has a standing order and is local they can be detained, transported to the sheriff office waiting for an affidavit to be signed by the land owner. The land owner must go to justice court before they close to sign the affidavit which will enable an arrest, otherwise the deputy who intends to make the arrest will have to type an affidavit and get the land owner infront of a notary to sign it. I believe MS Export Railroad has a standing order they will file charges on anyone caught on railroad property, this is done in Jackson and George counties due to liability. Usually when people are found under the escatawpa river bridge they will have alcohol so they can be arrested for breaking the dry law. No one is allowed to cross the county line with alcohol in their possession, bringing alcohol into George County is against the law.

If it's in your refrigerator is that illegal?

I guess a beer truck can pass thru - but if you have it in your car, it is illegal - illegal in your fridge. I have never heard of them going in houses looking for alcohol, but if there is a problem at the house they will arrest you for possession.

For a population that wants government out of our lives, we sure allow a massive intrusion by government.

I still (again) think it is an infringement on my rights to be refused to be able drink wine or a cold beer in my back yard while having a barbecue. Just think I have earned that in my life. This stupid law makes law abiding citizens lawbreakers.

Tazz 13, I think it is illegal to have it in your possession period. I think it may be illegal to stop someone from New York just passing thru. They don't really arrest people any more unless they are drinking, they will just give you a ticket. They want to make the money.

Is this something that was enacted after prohibition was federally lifted, or was it just a continuance of the prohibition era?

As I understand it it was enacted after prohibition, maybe Cipsaw can tell us for sure, she has lived in the area all of her life I think. Just sticks in my craw though, lol.
