people from the bottoms

Is there anyone that grew up in the bottoms, that actually got out and did good for themselves? Everyone talks so badly about that place, there has to be some good to it

Myself and my two siblings grew up in the "bottoms". Athletes, honor roll students, church on Sun. morning, and now successful property-owning, tax-paying adults! One retired, two still working. BUT --- it isn't like it used to be down there! SO DAMNED SAD!

im from there and i am now graduating and starting college in august so peopleneed to get their facts straight it's not that bad

I'm from lucasville bottoms I didn't finish school but for good reasons. But I have worked since I was 16 I'm now 26 don't do drugs. Like was said earlier it's only as bad as you make it.

sorry, but i've had 4 kids who thought they had good reasons too. the schools bent over backwards to try to keep them in school, but they had all the answers, they are now older adults with nothing. wouldn't listen to anyone?

I didn't have no kids I was taking care of my baby sister. Cause my dad wasn't there and mom had to work. Couldn't leave her by her self.

And the school tryed to help but they understood and told me how to get me ged.

I actually grew up down there. I currently work in Healthcare and have been employed for many many years there in Columbus. So yes there are people who grew up down there who have mada something of there lifes. I know numerous people that got out and are very successful.

Does anyone know amything about LillyvHolcom or Charles Liles?

Anybody can make something of themselves--the adults who are down there--give up your damn cigarettes which make you and your whole house (and your kids) STINK. Then they won't be looked down on so much!
