Well your other post could have fooled me. It seemed all about "blame the USA". No blame for the greedy corrupt Mexicans whose lust for money got them into the violence of the drug cartels. No blame for the music industry of Mexico that has promoted the narco corrida music which glorifies the drug cartels and the traffickers, and no blame for the people of Mexico who go along with all of it -- and admire the drug lords.
Blaming the victim -- the addict -- isn't the answer. The Mexican traffickers even get these drugs into the middle schools of America -- to get kids addicted at a very young age before they can make decisions, going so far as to disguise methamphetamine as candy.
You reap what you have sown. Now Mexico is reaping the bloody harvest. We need to close the border -- let Mexico do what it wishes with the drugs that pile up.
Are you a Drug addict? o so sorry 'victim' I'm not just blaming America, This is a Sahred problem that is also affecting my nephews in Mexico being harased by Drugs dealers(gladly they are not addicts, oh sorry victims), they are in Middle schools IN MEXICO when family values are enforced LIKE THEY SHOUL ALL OVER THE WORLD!! so they CAN MAKE THEIR OWN DESITIONS and not confuse Meth with Candy!!

Close down the Border? Humm? Bie geth ein berliner!, Mr. Gorvachev, tear down this wall!!, rings a bell?, if this happens Then I'll be an 'illegal' crossing to visit my family in Mexico, you've won! oh!, maybe I should renounce them for accidently being born in that Drug infested, drug producing, corupt country!,anyway,--Dios lo bendiga y le de mas -- Best wishes -- your Mexican "Amigo"

Your trying to relate a border wall in the US with the Berlin wall shows your ignorance of history. The Berlin wall was built by a communist regime attempting to stop its own citizens from fleeing to freedom. For the analogy to work - mexico would have to a) build the wall and B0 Care if its citizens left.

The reality is the Mexican government wants their citizens to flee to the US so the US provides the basic services and the illegals send home their us dollars.

Read a book sometime and actually think about what you read

The analogy was made of building bridges not building walls in any case you belive what you want, it's a free country.
PS: please recomend me what book to read on the Berlin wall, please don't paste opinions from the web, that's so overrated! and lazy

Mayor Cook is in the books. He's on the payroll. I'm sure he sold us out. Maybe it wasn't about the money and about he and his family's life. This is serious business. With our manpower and technology it has been increasingly more difficult to traffic the drugs across. Once the drugs are across someone is soon to get bused. We are too smart of a Country and the only option is to bribe officials with money or their life.

Question 1 - Believe what I want? What is this in reference to. Are you arguing why the Berlin wall was built?

Questions 2 - other than pasting YOUR posting, what did I paste from the web?

Books you can read:

The Berlin Wall: Barrier to Freedom (Snapshots in History) by Michael Burgan

The Berlin Wall by Thomas Flemming and Hagen Koch

The Wall: Growing Up Behind the Iron Curtain (Caldecott Honor Book) by Peter Sis

To Save a City: The Berlin Airlift 1948 - 1949 by Roger G. Miller

I've read them all

Question 2: Ans. I just posted "the Berlin Wall" on the Web and it gave me the same books you list, wow! ain't that a coincidence (so overrated), anyway, any lessons learned about building walls after all those books?

PS:The Berlin Wall was built more as a political statement (oh I forgot you already knew that!), also wasn't this about Thomason Hospital in El Paso?

You bought up the Berlin Wall as some convoluted logic as to why we should not build a border wall - not me.

As for searching the web for books - I am sure you found others as well, I limited my list to those I had read as part of my Master's work in History.

Ask anyone who lived behid the wall (in east germany) if it was only a political statement. Perhaps those killed trying to get over the wall might disagree

Ok, my last comments to you:
First, Building walls and closing borders (for what ever reason) was brougt on by MALAMUTE not me.
Second, apologies, I did not want to offend you, maybe you are better lectured in the Berlin Wall, I'm an engineer by carrer but follow common sense, I'm also from Mexican Descent but very proud of being American with out the need of waiving the flag or addressing populist issue like immigration and drugs to win sympathy, currentley my job takes me to a lot of places and met a lot of people from all over the world (Luky guy) including people from East Germany and Poland, belive me a political statment is not just words, it is holding your ground sometimes in a stubborn matter to the point of killing people or shooting someone crossing a 'wall' in any direction for whatever reason that you 'belive' could be threat to you just by the fact someone has a totalitary point of view and think you have all the facts.

I might not have all the facts, but I have these facts: My cousin and uncle, both from Guerrero State in Mexico, one is DEAD and the other shoot and Deported after crossing the Wall, this incident happened in Arizona 35 miles North of the Border, no investigation, nothing, they were comming to U.S. to work they were not Drug dealers, did I advise them not to come? Yes, The mexican Goverment also does contrary to popular belief, Is a 'Wall' a political statement? then how come the Berlin Wall and Our 'Wall' was and is in word of mouth of Politicians -- Dios lo Bendiga --

PS: Corruption is alll over just ask halie burton oh, wait our goverment never lies to us?, Am I still a Typical American citizan or just so called for stating this opinion?-- Dios lo Bendiga --
Typical American citizen = one who is not working in Mexico as a Mexican police commander or other Mexican official.

Narco corridas is the most popular music with Mexicans. Not too difficult to know what those songs are about and what they glorify. Jefe de jefes, pacas de kilo, and so on and so on.

And if Mexicans had such strong family values, why are they leaving their kids behind when they're deported or when they sneak over the borders and why are they dealing hard drugs to children?

Drugs have brought in a lot of money to Mexico but also this money lust is destroying Mexico. Why should any American want this drug violence spilling over the border?

In Mexico they go into hospitals and assassinate patients -- and if we keep this up, we're going to see the same thing being done here.

Answ.: Not true right now 'pasito Duranguense' is this form of music derives actually from Polkas and not necesaraly a Narco Corrida. Narco corridas have been banned and are not allowed in Radio stations (need to know a little bit betteryou neighboors), Gang Music and Glamorizing gangs in the States are not banned by FCC, maybe from a local station, maybe not but not from Federal gov'mt.

And if Mexicans had such strong family values, why are they leaving their kids behind when they're deported or when they sneak over the borders and why are they dealing hard drugs to children? Same situation can be said abou some 'typical american Citizen' weather Caucasian, Anglo, Afro or hispanic when they get stoned and go to jail and don't care about their children, this has to be at in indivitual level and not hide under a 'victim shield' or pointing the finger to another place (How many lives were and are being lost in Iraq because of blaming them directly for the search for weapons of mass destruction, have family in Iraq, pray for them!)

Drugs have brought in a lot of money to Mexico (and to the U.S.) but also this money lust is destroying Mexico (and our nation too). Why should any American want this drug violence spilling over the border? Answ.:We don't!(Oh sorry, I'm not a typical American citizen!)

It's sad going to a foreign country seeing the missery of a nation weather on the other side of the world or right next door and blaming evreyone and evreything for not having a typical 'American way of life' or not trying to be an 'typical american citizen

Well in the USA, I don't think we want censorship from the government of music -- but like Bill Cosby and some black leaders bring up about gansta rap, it seems like some Mexican leaders should question why the narco-culture is being so glorified in the popular music of Mexico.

Some Mexicans have strong family values -- a whole lot of them do not -- check out the large unwed teen pregnancy rates. Many Mexicans leave their families behind to come here for money. Children need parents home raising them more than they need remittances to buy the latest designer jeans -- and the breakdown of the family is feeding the violence.

And the Mexicans abandoning their country are also not helping build stability for it. They may crave American dollars -- but that doesn't help the stability of Mexico when most it's people are packing up to leave it.

I don't want the USA to bomb Mexico. I want the border enforced and for each side to take care it's own problems.

Look!
The people who most want illegal drugs to remain illegal are those people who are producing and distributing illegal drugs! They actually hire lobbyists to lobby to increase penalties and keep illegal drugs illegal. It is a fact! If illegal drugs were made legal, those who produce and distribute them would all be flipping burgers. End of argument.
