The visitor center more appropriately should have been renamed the J.M. Stewart Geothermal Visitor Center after its visionary Jan Stewart of Saratoga.
Fresh out of Stanford, Jan went to work for PG&E in San Francisco as the tour guide at The Geysers. She was promoted to media rep with more assignments, but always had the geothermal beat. It was Jan's dream to educate people about geothermal energy, especially at The Geysers.
Years later, Jan left PG&E and went to work for Calpine. There, Jan wrote her dreams for an educational visitor center at The Geysers in an email to CEO Pete Cartwright.
Pete gave Jan the go-ahead and she selected the location, the architect, the builder, the landscape designer, the hands-on, kid-friendly displays, and the staff.
Jan Stewart built her dream geothermal visitor center. Pete Cartwright got all the credit.
That really frosts me. But, it's so stereotypical.

Daily Horoscope for June 2

Aquarius

You won't like it if you feel your wings are being clipped today. You want to do something in particular, only to discover that someone is objecting to your plans or that circumstances beyond your control are standing in your way. Although your instincts tell you to throw a tantrum to get your point across, you must ask yourself what this will achieve, and whether it will actually be self-defeating.
