You're right, I've learned all about her the hard way. There are no decent Vets in Abbeville. I would take my Horse to Kinard if you really care about them.

I live in Laurens and I have a tiny chahauhau dog that I had took to two vets here. She weighed four pounds full term pregnant. My vets had closed for the day and the dog was in trouble.I called Dr.Gray and she stayed over and waited for me to come from Laurens. She did a c-section and the puppy had been dead for quite a while. It had ruptured the dog's uterus and had attached to the intestines.Had it not been for Dr.Gray, this little dog would never have survived.I think folks in Abbeville are blessed to have her!She made a wonderful call on going ahead with the c-section.My little dog is doing very well now thanks to Dr.Gray! Wish she were in Laurens! This lady stayed over for me(a total stranger)to save this little dog!Like I said I had already took her to two vets here that didn't pick up on the fact that the puppy was already dead.Sometimes they can't tell things from xrays and examinations because after all these animals can't talk!Sometimes the owners wait too long to get them help too.I don't have bad feelings toward my vets here either because I know they can only do so much and the dogs can't tell them anything!

If you're pet is needing something simple like shots then Dr Deat..uh, I mean Dr Gray ;)(or any vet in Abbeville) can do that but if you have an emergency PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE find a vet in Greenwood or Anderson.

We lost a few pets with her because she didn't know what was wrong with the pets. The one pet I can not stop thinkin about though is our kitten.. he started having breathing problems.. We took him into Gray. she told us he had asthma (no tests were done) and said I needed to start using an inhaler on him.. I thought she was crazy.. I'd never heard of an animal having asthma. My kitten didn't like the inhaler at all.. he would scream, cry, scratch the hell outta me tryin to get away.. The inhaler wasn't helping him.. his breathing would go back to normal on it's own.. he'd go days with no problem then the problem would start again. I finally took him to another vet here in Abbeville.. That vet could tell my kitten was having probs but the vet really was no help. He told me to go on using the inhaler. I don't remember how many weeks this went on or how many times I had my kitten in to see Gray but I finally couldn't stand to watch my kitten suffer any longer. we took him in and had Gray put him down.. after my kitten passed she started feeling around on him.. she said.. I hate to admit it but pets get better exams after they've passed.. I couldn't believe she said that to me.. WTF!? so then she tells me to feel a spot on my kittens chest.. I did and I felt nothing.. she said it was a lump and she said my kitten had a tumor.. I'm pretty sure my mouth dropped to the floor.. I was in shock! all I could think about was the HELL i put my kitten through with that damn inhaler! I knew right then this woman had NO IDEA what she's doing. I don't believe my kitten had asthma or a tumor! That was the last time we took any of our pets to see Gray. I hate that I didn't go to a vet outside of Abbeville!

There was a lady in Abbeville who was saving animals from the local shelter.. she'd take the sick animals to Gray. When this lady decided to start up the Abbeville Humane Society she asked Gray if she'd be on the Humane Society board.. Gray turned it down. Gray told her she's more of a horse vet and NOT a cat or dog vet (not her exact words.. I wasn't there so I don't know her EXACT words) after telling the lady she's more of a horse vet the lady started taking the sick animals from the shelter to a vet in Greenwood.

I watched a video on youtube the other day.. it's about some abandoned horses here in Abbeville, SC. The video was posted in 2009. you can see there was a few sick/very skinny horses in the video. I'm not a flippin vet but I could see these horses were NOT ok! but the video said a vet checked the horses out and said they were ok.. Really!? I would like to know which vet here in Abbeville looked at those animals.. if it was Gray then she shouldn't even be treating horses! The one horse had a twisted hoof and couldn't even walk on it.

I would love to find a good vet near Abbeville. I'm still searching for one! We used to have a GREAT Vet in Anderson. Dr Jones (Liberty Highway Veterinary Hospital)! He was a wonderful vet! Our pets even liked him. You could tell he & his staff really loved animals.. We went to him for years.. up until he retired. I would love to find a vet like Dr Jones! The only thing I didn't like was he was on the other side of Anderson so it was a very long drive from Abbeville... seemed even longer when you have a very sick (sometimes screaming) pet in your vehicle.

This vet ahould really be put out of business she is horrible. Did you hear about the Poor Dog she lost literally while she was supposed to be treating him. She said he got scared when a horse trailer pulled up. Negligent careless should definately have her vet license revoked.

Nope Dog was never found. Its one thing for the Dog to die from being sick but its another thing for the vet to literally lose a dog while it was in her care. Melinda Gray should have her license stripped I know several people who have reported her to the SC board of Vets. She dis not even help look for the dog after she lost it did not even contact the owners to apologize what horrible bed side manner.

I have to say that in all fairness these Vets start out halfway decent and then somewhere along the line they just don't seem to care. The job's not that hard, I don't know what the problem is. Maybe they didn't strike the Goldmine they thought they would.

It looks like even the employees can not stand her from what i have heard its just her and her daughter working there now no certified vet techs or any other employees - pretty bad when you run off employees especially ones who have worked there for years I bet that place wont make it another 6 months and thank god just hope she does not lose or kill or mis diagnose anymore innocent animals

I don't know about all those other stories but my experience with Dr Gray has always been good. I have several cats, mostly abandoned strays and due to the number of cats I have dr Gray gave me the Humane society rate when it came time to have these cays spayed. There have also been SEVERAL occasions when I have had sick cats that probably would not have made it through the night and dr Gray worked these cats right in to her schedule even on her day off and saved them from certain painful death. It may have cost me a bit but to me not having to watch a cat suffer and die is worth it and I am thankful to have a vet that will work with me and my cats, NO other vet in town will.

Supposedly she let a poor puppy with parvo suffer a water pipe burst in the basement over one weekend the basement is where they keep the animals that they treat or board when the young employee got there the sick pup was sitting in inches of water.the employee tried to call dr gray but no answer you . So dont ever board or leave in animal in the care of that place . After reading last year about the dog she lost i would not trust any animal in her care. That is one heartless careless negligent. All her employees are gone except for her daughter the best thing she can do is close the door to that place before she loses or harms another animal.

All those stories are true I know the family she lost the dog of. She did not even help look for the Dog.She is obviously in it for the $. She will take a large animal and try to save it over a dog or cat. Notice she quit paying attention to the sick dog that was in her care and let it run off when a horse trailer pulled up. And for Johnboy there are only 2 vets in town hopefully soon to be just 1. I guess she gave you a discounted rate for her discounted service. I know several people have contacted the SC Board of Veterinary Medicine because they are outraged at her horrible practices. One being one of her previous employees who has pictures and documents of all the negligence. So I would think twice before taking any animal to this so called Vet.

Daily Horoscope for June 2

Libra

It's one of those difficult days when anything can and will happen. Someone you were relying on might let you down, plans could be changed at the eleventh hour or a machine could go on the blink. To make matters worse, your energy levels are very erratic, so you feel full of beans one minute and ready to go to sleep the next. Don't make the situation worse by eating foods that give you a high followed by a slump.
