So you Ron must smell like a whale carcass that has been sitting in the hot sun for three months. I am not making fun of anybody d-bag. Many UMass Lowell kids smell. They have "bo". A fact is a fact moron.

Sadly I must agree that several of the young people at the school have a serious hygiene problem.
The school and dorms should develop some type of cleanliness standards. Perhaps some classes about bathing and washing their clothes would help?
My family had to stop renting to the students. The smell was impossible to get rid of after they moved out. They would leave trash everywhere. The bathrooms were never cleaned. We had to replace part of a bathroom floor because of dried vomit.
All of this is unacceptable. The bedbug situation does not surprise me.

I happen to know one of the students who had this problem. Despite what seems to be the popular belief here, this individual was one of the cleanest people I've ever met. The bites started well over a month before anything was done despite an attempt to inform someone in charge. They actually had to bring a bed bug to someone to show them that there was in fact an infestation before anything was done- over a month of being eaten alive. So I don't blame that other girl for dragging her mattress down the hall; I wouldn't be surprised if she experienced similar disregard. I think this problem is an important wakeup call for all of us. Bed bugs can happen anywhere at any time regardless of hygiene or living conditions- they've been called an epidemic in the US. I get the impression that now that the story is out, the ICC may no longer be the "most sought after dorm" at the University.

Most teenagers are filthy and it too adds to the problem. Inspect the dorms and if they are dirty throw the kids out. Wow your both ignorant and racist. Don't believe everything you read, most of what the school has said is a lie. The Administration of UML's Res Life has lied about the whole thing. They ignored the girl on multiple occasions and none of the dorms were cleaned.

Stem cell research might be able to help you though. Scientist could grow you a new brain because let's face it the one you have now is severely damaged. Hahaha!

Did you know that Leprosy is also carried by Armadillos? Do you know where Aramadillos live? Yes, you guessed it. texas. You know who else comes from Texas? Yes, you are correct. The Bush family. So, the bedbugs are equally the fault of the Bush family right? And you're probably pretty filthy yourself, but you've got so many chins you can't even look down to see. Fat, nasty, sweaty, covered in orange cheese puff grime with soda dripping down your chin. get out there. Work or something. You overburdensome swine.

FactCheck wrote: The author of this article is incorrect about diseases being spread by bedbugs. There is no proof or document cases of bedbugs spreading disease. I noticed this statement immediately also. It's unfortunate that the author posted it. “A common concern with bed bugs is whether they transmit diseases. Transmission to humans is considered highly unlikely. For this reason, they are not considered [by medical professionals as] a serious disease threat. Their medical significance is mainly limited to the itching and inflammation from their bites,[similar to a mosquito or flea bite]. The usual treatment prescribed is topical application of antiseptic or antibiotic creams or lotions to prevent infection.”(Potter 2004)

If the UMASSLowell Inn and Conference Center still has a bedbug infestation, what is going on with the health and safety department? Isn't bedbug prevention and eradication a health and safety issue? Or is that department a waste of money?

The real problem is UMASSLowell should have an effective, internal health and safety program where problems are identified and handled properly as well as in a very timely manner. With a bedbug infestation, there's a very real possibility you can bring the bedbugs home with you. Have you spoken to your boss? That's where you should start. Given that UMASSLowell bedbugs were featured in the Lowell Sun you would think UMASSLowell would have a handle on the problem.
