if you really wanted to do something you would have driven your mommies escalade or bmw across the street to the river bank where the REAL cardboard city is
and given those people some food and warm clothing

Alan Kazanjian, the heartless former City Councilor member had the police department take down the cardboard city this summer....but you wouldn't know that because you either don't get or just cant read the Lowell sun? It was in their numerous times... I haven't seen any cardboard cities since they took down all the trees along the merimack....

It can't hurt to raise awareness. However, the students need to think long term as well and put in the effort after they graduate to create jobs, lots of jobs, real jobs that produce things, not government feeding at the trough jobs. Forget what the libby leftist profs tell you and meet the real world of risk, ideas and productivity. I'm a 1970 LTI alumnus who speaks from experience. Long live capitalism and the USA.

Just to add a little background to this article. The Phi Kappa Sigma fraternity (of which I am a part of) founded CBC in 1990 and has been running it every year since. We get help with supplies from UML and donations from local businesses. This year we raised $1000 to send to the Lowell Hunger/Homeless Commission.

To The Cynic: I absolutely agree with your standpoint. Our mission from the beginning has been to raise awareness and do what we can, money wise, for the commission. In the long term we hope to gain support from other philanthropy and non-profit organizations so that we can make a real difference.

Daily Horoscope for December 24

Gemini

It's a busy day and you've got quite enough to do without having to cope with people clamoring for your attention and likely to go into a huff if they don't get it. Is this person feeling neglected because you're busily occupied elsewhere or are there other reasons for their demanding mood? Simply giving them a big hug could make all the difference to their behavior.
