I'm an attorney for the state. I handle many environmental cases. If everything is true that has been said of this farm, it could be shut down in a heartbeat and fined heavily. I encourage whoever wants this operation shut down to contact a lawyer immediately.

If your involved with the Commonwealth then you should know of this case. These people all have lawyers and things are being done. The people that own this farm are very nice people and do care about the neighborhood and the neighborhood also has a case because the farm does smell. The fact is the farm was there before most of these people and they knew what they were getting into buying in that area. so let the people work this out and stay out of this topic.

The fact is that pigs smell. Thats your problem now. You should have thought of this when you real estate agent said a pig farm was in the area. I had a close friend that lived there. I have been in the area in August when it's 100 degrees and humid. It stinks to the high heavens. But the fact is the farm has been there for a long time. I do feel bad for the neighbors and I do feel bad for the cave's but everyone needs to meet somewhere in the middle on this. And when someone lady that claims she works for the state starts this then someone like myself needs to clear things up.

I didn't buy a house near the farm, a friend of mine did 15 years ago. The smell wasn't nearly as bad as it is now. The Farmer has changed things there since then. He built things without the proper permits and is deaf to the neighbors complaints. I agree buying near a pig farm, you have to expect odors, but when the smell just keeps getting worse, it should be looked into.

Oh trust me I agree with you. I just think that the neighbor and the farm owners need to agree on what to do. You can't run a farm thats been in the area for a long time out and you can't make people move. So its a deadlock right now. People need to work with people. I just think this should be kept at a local level and we don't need some out of towner telling the towns people what to do.
