Second, the people who we take on the field of battle are not criminals, they are combatants, you do not yell at them to stop and put there hands up, that is how you get killed and lose wars. Please tell me that I am mistaken and you people are not that foolish?

Third, go look up what the Geneva Convention allows you to do to people who are not in Uniform of a country involved in a conflict (ie; foreign fighters we find in Afghanistan all the time). Guess what we can do to them and we can do it on the spot? Yet, we don't do it!

Fourth, WE ARE THE ONLY ONES who obey the Geneva Conventions. Not since WWII has anyone even thought about honoring those rules of war and treatment of combatants. Heck, even in WWII the Japanese thought the rules to be a joke. If an American gets captured in Afghanistan, they will be killed and how long it takes and how slow it is usually depends on you rank. Go read what they Afghan's do to prisoners, the Russian Invasion is a good place to start.

Fifth, Have any of you actually read the Geneva Conventions or do you just parrot what the papers think is allowed and not allowed?

Sixth, torture is wrong, if you want to say that they should stop the water boardings, fine, but also included in what many want to ban is sleep deprivation, uncomfortable positions and really any means that is uncomfortable to the prisoners. Am I losing it or do you think these people were picked up in the US for Jay Walking?

Lastly, there is an obvious dis-connect between those of us who have actually read up on the subject, fought these guys and have actually gone outside of the US to places other than Europe-compared to the rest of you who think we can treat this like a Law Enforcement problem, should read people rights they do not have on the field of battle, would prosecute troops for even roughing up an enemy or heck, for shooting one!

The folks we are fighting rape little girls for going to school, pass around little boys for pleasure, shoot woman for being "suspected" of prostitution, burn entire villages for allowing girls to teach or attend a class, tortue captured soldiers by cutting fingers and skin off and then use them to demonstrate how to cut a throat for the other "warriors" in the tribe or troop, but your right folks....we should treat them like common criminals..read them rights, make sure we collect evidence after a fire fight and rocket attack, ensure that they have legal reps and understand that they just need to be talked to, educated and perhaps then we can all get along.
