Closing a prison is easy, but you did not answer the difficult questions.
What should be done with the prisoners? Given trials? Let free? All of them? Or some?
What kind of trial? Military trials?
As non-citizens, what rights should they be given?

They have no USA constitutional rights. They are terrorists that have follow no laws. Military tribunals need to be used. They need to be fair. But to give terrorists rights is just downright wrong. On 9/11 what rights did the terrorists give the 3,000 innocent civilians?

Obama's decision is putting the cart in front of the horse and thus endangering more American lives. You have to answer the questions that Citizen so aptly put out FIRST. Do we need another 9/11/01 to relearn this lesson?

Zacarias an known FBI informant and trained to fly at a Florida flight school... This is just the tip of the iceberg in one of the greatest cover-ups in history.

What if they're not terrorists? Because they were captured by us makes them terrorists? Funny how hypocritical the Bush admin is...Take afganistan - the northern alliance was on the list of terrorist organizations...suddenly we needed them and sha-zam! They're suddenly FREEDOM FIGHTERS! hahahaha - so funny i forgot to laugh. Look at Iran...we tried to overthrow them and failed...so we make friends with Iraq and use them as a proxy to vanquish Iran and suddenly the Iraqis are FREEDOM FIGHTERS. Well that went so well...good thing we put Saddam in power... I love how people mix reality and American interests (or to be fair, reality with whatever interests their home land happens to be, can be applied virtually anywhere). It's the non-thinking sheeple like yourself that hold the rest of us back.

Also, to clarify my initial statement, there is a difference between soldiers/grunts fighting us and true terrorists.
You want to approach the situation from the perspective of absolutism, which isn't applicable to a liquid reality.
It's morbidly amusing that people from all nations are so easily duped into sacrificing their lives for what is always an economic end. Name a war that WASN'T fought for: money, land, resources such as spice, oil, bronze etc...you won't find one.
There is no such thing as a just war.

Hey, The people that are still there are the worst of the worse. All the more lenient terrorists have been released, and yet most of them returned to their ways as was recently proven. The individuals that are left are extremely dangerous not only to Americans but to all people. There are several there that are capable of killing you like some old Van Damme movie, so they shackle them and have a 4 person armed "keep your distance" escort. The countries of origin do not want them because they are dangerous guys, they will kill you in seconds. What to do with them? I say Re-integrate into San Francisco CA. They hate the military there. Although hundreds of people will start turning up dead.

I will repeat: EVEN THE BUSH ADMINISTRATION ADMITTED THAT MOST OF THE DETAINEES THAT HAVE BEEN RELEASED WERE POW'S, IN THE WRONG PLACE AT THE WRONG TIME, AND WHILE ENEMIES OF THE US. ARE SOLDIERS, NOT TERRORISTS. We kept the dangerous ones. That said, is it beyond the reach of your little brain to comprehend that a lot of these people who did return to combat (WHICH HAS YET TO BE PROVEN LIKE MOST OF THE BUSH ADMIN'S ASSERTIONS) were most likely RADICALIZED there, being with the hardcore ones, the same way prisoners here are turned more dangerous after prison? Did it help? Noooooo!

They put you in a shack, release the gas, order you to take off the mask and find your way out, it was dark. I never saw so much snot in my life. How about we put them in there and not open the door? Let them drown in their own mucus?

l would like to know what the President is going to do with the Gitmo prisoners. Some of the prisoners can't get back into their own Countries because they are not wanted. We should have tried, and convicted these people long ago. l believe we are going to have some big problems with his decision to close. Who wants captured terrorist near their homes in their home state? l think we are going to live to regret this decision.
