jack was Mr. Hampton Beach. He will be sorely missed!

I just spoke with a family member. I was blindsided by this. I was making my usual call to him to chat about things. This is a huge loss to us, his family and the world. Jack was my friend, and my mentor. He encouraged me not only as an entertainer, but mentored me as only a friend and fellow human being can, never looking down upon me but instead truly willing to help, counsel, teach and share without ever expecting anything in return. I shall never forget him but I miss him already! It is all too hard to believe - we can't have our talks anymore! I am truly sorry for his family, the girls, his bandmates, and many many fans, friends and colleagues. May God Bless Him and Keep Him. Love you, Jack - ML.

I've known Jack for over 20 years. We met when I met my wife while he was playing with the band. He always took time to stop and say hello whenever we crossed paths whether he was by himself or playing a venue. He was a great guy. His personality was such that you always felt better about anything after talking with Jack. He will be missed, this is shocking.

Jack, you were more than a colleague, you were a friend. Not just to me, but to anyone you ever came in contact with. I as well as many others, will never forget you. You will remain in many hearts forever. God Bless You and May you Rest in Peace.

Heartfelt condolences to Jack's family, bandmates, friends and associates. I know that my colleagues (The Reminisants) will be adding to this sentiment. Jack was the "real deal". In addition to being an all-around great guy, he was well respected as a true gentleman and talented entertainer, who was professional in all his endeavors. He provided many local musicians the opportunity to work with him, many of whom he mentored and inspired. His dedication to delivering consistent, high quality entertainment, for seveal decades, at Hampton Beach, helped to make it one of the best summer venues on the east coast. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him. Jack, one more time, "Thanks" for everything you have done for us.

Jack and the band have been well known to our family for many years. They have provided endless entertainment and kindness to us all during those years. You never felt that Jack or any of them had gone out of their way to say hello to you. They let the kids on stage at the beach shell during summer shows at Hampton, and they would always get the crowd going someway, somehow. I really appreciate how my brother Michael in the wheelchair, that everyone knows, came to live for these performances which seemed to enhance his quality of life in just the few hours in a matter of only a few days spent. The band also played my cousins wedding earlier this decade. What a loss for all those that were influenced or touched by this mans life. Thank you, Jack. Elvis has finally left the building (in tribute to one of the bands funnier schticks).

I'll always remember Jack as a man with a big, big heart. Not only was he generous, kind, and patient, but he was always quick to point out the good in other people. He was a truly good guy.

Besides seeing my family in Hampton, The one reason that I enjoyed the beach was seeing Jack and the Continentals perform. He was truly an American. When he sang Proud to be an American, you could not help but get goosebumps. You could tell he sang from his heart.

We will miss you Jack. We've been just about everywhere the Continentals have been and have such terrific memories. I remember when the band played for my parents 25th Anniversary 26 years ago. We hired a DJ for the second four hours, and the caterer for two sessions so "The Continentals" could be part of the party. We all had a blast. Just one of the many memories we'll treasure forever. You will always be in our hearts. We love you.

Jack, Through the years, you have made our lives brighter with your breathtaking voice, jolly laughter and at times, heart to heart talks. We will miss you and your friendship but will forever treasure the memories. You will always remain in our hearts. Love you always.

Today we said goodbye to a man that will never be duplicated. Jack, you can only imagine the empty feeling that remains in so many hearts, with your passing. We all wish you nothing but the best in your journey to the heavens. Heaven's gain is our loss. I love you Jack. Give Carmen our love and God Bless You Both!

I just found out today (late) about Jack's passing and it is a sad day for all who knew him.
Jack was a great entertainer and after knowing him for over 30 years that is how he will be remembered by me and my family. I was lucky a couple of years ago to have my kids get to see him and Jack, Donny, & Mike play and I remembered back to when I was much younger and enjoyed them so much. I still remember their take on The Monster Mash and them putting on those masks and that was probably my favorite song of many. R.I.P Jack and my condolences to your family. |

for as long as i remember your music at hampton beach was "sheer magic"...you were the only one i ever met that could make jon do the YMCA in public and actually laugh and have a good time doing it...you touched more lives than you could possibly imagine...although the music continues.. the silence of your absence is deafening...with heartfelt sympathy to your family and your band...

We haven't seen Jack and the band for a lot of years, we moved to Ca 15 years ago, but we still think of the continentals quite often.
The band played at our wedding almost 30 years ago. I'll always remember Jack's competitiveness whether we were playing softball or Bowling or just about anything else. Always remember "Tie a Yellow Ribbon", Jack and we will always remember you, we spent a lot of very enjoyable nights with you and the guys. Ed and Judy |
