Carl Mackey

Carl Mackey is a disgrace to Hobbs. Crying racist evrytime someone disagrees with him. Police cant even do their job right because of him. I blame the recent shootings in Hobbs on him. (because I Can)

Carl Mackey is a good Christian man that stands for right. He would never hurt anyone and is always willing to help. Before you talk about him I suggest you get to know him for yourself. He has a right to speak against wrong in our community. if it was you that needed his help he would help you even if he knew it was you who was speaking against him. Think before you speak he is a man of God and God will fight for him. I stand by every word I have said.

Anyone that knows Carl Mackey knows this is not a statement that He would make. He is a deacon in the church and a man of integrity. that wouold never stoop to this level. I will pray for you that God gives you the same heart that he has. That will love you reguardless of who you are or what you have done. God bless you!!! I love You!!!

I don't often agree with Jean Hodge but I would like to say a few things about her comments. First, I am impressed that she had the guts to put her name on her comments and second, Carl is often misguided but you can never question his loyalty to his cause. Kind of makes it hard for you people to attack her when she ends her posting by saying she loves you and wants God to bless you. I have also found that Carl has become our best commissioner and I am white and live close to Robert Ray Wallach, our worst commissioner.

Yes, the message wasn't really from Carl. As Jean Hodge said, Carl wouldn't post such a message. It was my own doing. I apologize for saying it was from Carl. I didn't think anyone would really believe it was. I'm just tired of people blaming Commissioner Mackey for ridiculous things that he has nothing to do with such as the local shootings. I just wanted poster "Blame It On Carl" to taste a bit of his/her own medicine.

I'm not from Carl's district nor am I of Carl's same political party, but I respect him for his position as one of our City Commissioners. After all, he was voted in by the people of his district.

Jean Hodge, I don't even know who you are, but I like you for standing up for your friend Carl. Sending love right back at ya!

Well i am tired of Mackey blaming evreything that he disagrees with on race.

I am tired of all the progressive movement blaming the fact that we disagree with socialism as being a race issue. I was VERY disappointed in Carl's comments. I will say this, I have been attending the city commissioner's meetings of late, as I know now how important it is to be ever watchful of government at every level. Although, I disagree with Carl on federal issues, I feel it is a lack of information on his part. As a city commissioner, Carl is definitely one of the best commissioners we have. He really is for the people and he stands on principle. He is human and so I am sure he makes mistakes, such as crying racists too often but that is a tactic that he has seen used and productive for a long time. If you want to know who to count on as a citizen, attend the city commissioner's meetings and you will get your answers. Carl Mackey and John Boyd are definitely two that you can depend on to look out for us, the people.

I hope that in our community we can lose the word "Racist". This is just not true in our community anymore. We all live, work, and play together. We have the blood of all races running through our veins within our families. Calling someone a racists when they disagree, simply because of skin color is in itself a "racist" statement and we need to be very careful not to do so. I don't care what color a man's skin is. I do, however, care about the color of his soul.

Jeanie Coates, I've never met you, but I REALLY like everything you've said in your two messages here. You presented your opinions very fairly and equally to all parties. It's refreshing!

The Justice Department's intervention in NM municipal government years ago created a big problem, districting. Carl is one of many unqualified individuals around the state who was elected because of districting. Carl's lack of real work experience and political activism would make him unelectable in any city-wide election. Carl and people like him are NM municipal governments built-in obstacles to good government.

So make the best of a bad situation!

I would like to say as a black man that Mr. Mackey doesn't represent all of us. Is racism still alive. "Yes". But your right Mr. Mackey does tend to lean on it too much. We now have a black president. To say that the country as a hole is racist is just stupid. Our country has came a long way. Mackey needs to stand behind our community and police officers. It's time to move forward our country has bigger problems. We need to stand together. If Mr. Mackey is still giving the same old dance about racist. Well then it's time to leave him behind also

Your statement could not be any further from the truth. Aparently you either do not know Carl that well or you are as racist and ignorant as he is. I have many friends on the P.D. both black and white and they will all tell you how he cries racism on the P.D. when it could not be any further from truth. That is his scape goat.

I don't know about him crying racism, but i do know that he knows what he is doing. He is one to stand up for people who he thinks are not being treated fairly. He has helped out my husband. Get to know him before you judge him. and as Mrs. Hodge said..he is a man of God and God don't like for people messing with his children. Mackey's heart is in the right place, he just got caught up in believing what he is being told and not looking any further. His biggest mistake was when he let the Chief do him a favor. He was trying to do what he felt was right and got caught up in a big mess. He has stop talking to the people, but I know in my heart that he want's to do what is right.
