Wither it’s our views on politics, religion, or social commentaries. These groups would not rear there head if they knew that people, wouldn’t be there to protest, after all you can have a show without a audience.
People need to understand that sometimes just waving and walking by is the best course of action. Instead people feel the need to cause HUGE counter demonstrations in order to try to "DROWN" out the messages of hate. That just adds fuel to the fire, and the messages they are shouting out are in-fact heard, which is the whole point of a rally...to get your message HEARD.
It’s not a recruitment, it’s not a show of force (because well, 30 is in my eyes not a show of much of anything.)
Many of these groups have become shadows of there more brutal pasts, with a lot of showmanship, and a lot of repeated rhetoric, and the best way to make there rallies ineffective is just...don't show up. Duh.
People feel the need to make big deals out of nothing because it makes them feel like they made a difference. It doesn’t, its wasted energy on deaf ears. Its not going to make them stop.
Why not take the time that you took off to “counter demonstrate”, to write a letter to your congressmen to help your community with an issue, go donate your time to a organization, or go pass out blankets to the homeless.
I will tell you why people don’t…. because it takes effort, It takes time.
Yelling your “message of hate” cause that’s what people are doing, is yelling messages of hate towards the Klan, is easier then doing physical work to help make a real difference.
And always remember this. Million Man march was a movement, but if a million white people marched for a white cause...it would be a racist rally.
Always think about the other person’s shoes.
