This is news? Saw the same thing 20+ years ago with beetle kill fire wood. They do make nice popping sounds in the fire though.

In Colorado the mountains are actually very beautiful. When something turns the trees red people actually care. So, yes, I guess this is news. Now, maybe in Kentucky it wouldn't be. I wouldn't know. Never been there.

found one of these in Roxborough Park, CO yesterday. Can folks on this thread that these only feed on dead or dying trees ? What is the matter with Kentucky ? Anyone here seen 'Next of Kin'?...
