I heard the state caught JR changing attendance numbers at the high school. Well we know he's never had an original thought in his head, ever. So who do we blame for this idea, Cassandra or Mike, because they were overseeing everything he did. I've also heard that somewhere in the SIG grant it was written that if the principal did not raise the test scores in two years, he would be fired. Does that mean they will fire JR? Kind of doubt it, Mike would never admit to a mistake like that. But who knows they'll have to blame someone, they may just throw JR under the bus. Heard he was scouring the yellow pages for a lawyer a couple of weeks ago. From the sounds of things he's going to need a good one. It's kind of a shame, after a nation wide search, they brought JR out of obscurity, gave him the highest paying job he's ever had, proclaimed his accolades all over the Levisa Lazer and now they're yanking the rug out from under him to save themselves. Kind of feel sorry for JR.

J R is doing the best he can. The problem is, that isn't much. Mike and his cronies must shoulder the blame for hiring someone so woefully inadequate. Of course Mike should have made sure that the one who was supposed to hold his hand was competent. Cassandra couldn't handle the high school when she was principal, how did they think she could show someone else how to do the job. The sad thing is, she is probably your next superintendent.

JR, Mike, Cassandra they are all in on it. You know they will cook (pardon the pun) the books to make them look good. If the state caught them they won't do anything. Watch JR get promoted to the board. God help our kids, because they don't care a dang about them.

He didn't feel sorry for kids that he has screwed over. He didn't feel sorry for the teachers he help screw over. He didn't feel sorry for taking an extra $25,000 per year. He didn't feel sorry when he lied about his 3 years of credified teaching experience on his application for principal! He didn't feel sorry when he was appointed by Webb to be VP and he was not qualified. He didn't feel sorry when he sued (and lost) the school board. He didn't feel sorry when Coach Sammons left, Coach Anderson left, Coach Elliot left, Coach Whelan left, Coach Keeton left. He is sorry, but he never felt sorry. Don't feel sorry for him, FEEL SORRY FOR THE STUDENTS THAT ARE LEFT AT LCHS. He obviously don't care about the poor kids in our county. He bows to those with money and influence, and punishes those who don't have $. His unprofessional clothes that he wears in school, is a sorry statement, but he just prefers jeans and a t-shirt.

In the SIG grant they said they were going to raise the attendance of teachers and students. Apparently they didn't. That's what was changed. That's federal money, so JR, Cassandra and Mike may be in some real trouble here.

I think that the administration has showed us what they want in their employees. And I think that every employee of the Lawrence County school system should strive to be half the man or woman that took nationwide searches to find. As far as the clothes go, jeans and t-shirts are all that most of the school employees can afford. All classified and certified employees alike should be thankful that they can save money on their wardrobe. I think if it is good enough for JR it is good enough for everyone. Whether the leadership likes it or not the bar has been set. Lead by example? Pretty sorry indeed.

So what is a little fudging of the numbers if it means more money to the school? Oh wait doesn't JR, Mike and Cassandra get bonuses if scores and attendence goes up? Yeah now that is stealing. But who cares anyway? The state will do nothing, they haven't done any thing for years. Why do you think Eddie retired really early? No hope for schools in Lawrence County.

Sorry to disappoint you here, but I must stick up for the man. JR is only doing what he is told, to do. I doubt he thought of this on his own. And it is no Big deal, they have been lying about attendance and graduation rates for years. Did you ever think that maybe JR didn't lie intentionally? You know he is not got with number and percentages?

Not to question you about them lying about attn & grad #'s but I don't think JR lied about grad #'S BECAUSE before he got there it was always in the 90's percent. And after his first year it was like 65 %. So maybe he is in trouble because he finally told the truth?

Please stop misrepresenting the statistics and making up numbers to justify your anger. Do you even know how they come up with the graduation rates? It isn't like only 65% of the students are graduating. The state does not consider anyone who fails a year and takes either 5 years to graduate or graduates in summer school. The state counts those students as "dropouts" even though they truly are not. Now, as for LCHS, why doesn't the community come together instead of running to the computer and spewing your hatred for a small group of people running the show? I won't disclose who I am, but I will say that I am very close to LCHS in a day-to-day basis. The fact is the kids do not respect education nor desire to obtain a high education level. If you don't believe me, ask them. They will be honest with you. They will also say that the teachers aren't teaching them anything. Well, that isn't true either. All you have to do is go to the school, ask to go to your child's class, and watch the education that is taking place. You can ask to follow your child around. I promise, you will not be denied. If you say you were denied, you aren't speaking the full truth. Instead of wanting Cook fired, why not jump in there and help the school out?

You can't speak up publicly because those in power will hold it against you, your kids, your relatives and they hold grudes for a long time around here. Just ask the hatfields and mccoy's. JR is a serious failure and the kids all know it.

May, one is supposed to report what's going on.

Did he do this? The truth should come out. The only way we'll probably ever know for sure is when they move him to the board office. That's what happens here, cheat and get promoted. It's the Lawrence County way.

When I went to LCHS, They hired twins to lead JRCook around so he wouldnt get lost. Kind of like one of them teacher aids. What were there names? I forgot. They deserve lots of credit for gettin JRCook where he is today: the boss of the worse school in Kentucky. I will take a bet with anybody that over half the students at that school could be a better teacher or prnciple than that dumba-s

Reel Dawg Fan - "over half the students could be a better teacher or principal than ..." I would like to add, all the kids that left because of him to that list. Even the twins he guarded. Do you remember the padded room they had, and the swing. I wonder if Cook still uses that room to take naps?
