Wonder how Bo feels about all that government money from the downtown revitalization block grants that went to put a new face on that old run down building. Bet that is government he can believe in. How is it when government is giving to these small businesses they are all for it and when the government is taking they want government out of their lives?
I remember in the early 70's when Loudon got these grants to update these buildings and make them more modern looking. Thinking then was nobody wanted to shop in these old run down buildings. And we call the government screwed up!(sigh) |

The story is about health insurance and how the new mandates affect small businesses. Hmmmm suggested that they get their prices in line, but this is exactly part of the problem when operating a small business. I guess one way they can get their prices in line would be to drop health insurance altogether, which seems to be the direction that we are going to move in as this mandate takes effect.
I think the one thing that people forget is that health insurance is a BENEFIT just like paid time off, sick days etc but too many people believe that because they work, someone should be responsible to provide them with this coverage. But what if all these employers drop your coverage? Are you prepared to deal purchasing coverage on your own? I think one thing that this mandate fails to take into account, is the fact that some people just don't want it. What if we allow people to sign a form opting-out? Then, if they go to seek medical attention, they can work out the details prior to admission with the provider. Got coverage...come on in....no coverage....get your checkbook out first. Just don't expect to sign up for coverage as you are being wheeled into surgery. |

I think this is kind of a bad set up because when we think about it we really have no control on what will happen on a certain medical condition. It is not always on the doctor's hands.

Businesses could be affected by the reforms in health care law however if you look at the benefits it actually outweighs any negative issue.People will be entitled to a health care plan.It could mean seeing old people sick with osteoporosis, fosamax and femur fracture, bone density etc. getting treated enjoying an all encompassing insurance coverage. It means seeing a new born child getting the medical attention he or she deserves.I think this law despite of its loopholes is great. http://fosamaxfemurfracturelawsuit.com
