Knock, Knock. How many Loudon cops does it take to run the BOE school board, commission, and Loudon City council? Answer: 4 cops ... Scotty, Kenny, Brian, and Jimmy.
Maybe Bear can run for county mayor next time.

So like a bunch of chickens, the BOE decided not to vote on the SROs at the last meeting. Not surprising. Like I said before, they sure found the money quickly to put the rubber surface on the track at LHS but can't find money for the SROs to be in the schools. By the way, did anyone see or hear about any home track meets this past spring at the High School?

SROs are put in the schools because the chief doesnt trust them on the street. EVery SRO is just waiting to get back on patrol and get out of those schools.

Can someone tell me why there is ever a problem with money in anything that has to do with schools at all. We have a lottery that was developed to be used for "schools and educational purposes". Billions of dollars have been spent into the lottery. Why isn't there enough money to do anything they want to do in Tennessee schools ?

I know everyone thinks sros are the way to go but at the schools in Loudon city. Officers can be there in no time. As far as helping the kids why not hire a professional for that. Has anyone ever done a study on the effectiveness of sros if someone wants to do something bad enuff, they will

MORE Money / Lets hie ANOTHER SUPER of Schools. Two is not enough for LLoudon. we should have another VANCE or MILLER . we can pay them$150,000 (inc. benies) and have them hire more central staff. that will fix it! Two or Three Super's with staff's is not enough for LOUDON COUNTY. Come to think of it we could also have another Board of Ed. and a second group of County Comm. we got lots of money. Wake up!how many Vances and Millers and staffs are you going to pay for . It's your childern and schools .

Loudon Joe, I'm not sure what you are making reference to. Mr. Vance has tried to help solve this situation. He was at the council meeting the other night speaking on behalf of our kids. However, it's not about him or Superintendent Miller, it's about our kids having Support officers in schools.

That's right! Our kids need support in school. Frankly I don't know how kids in my generation were able to learn anything without the support of police officers in the schools.

I cant agree with know it all Jeannie Pilgrim. The lottery money also pays for Pre-K (state funded babysitting service) AND college scholarships.
If Mr. Vance is doing such a grrrrrreat job, lets ask him how many of the kids graduating county high schools are college ready? Vance has more problems than just SRO's and the building program.

Disagree is missing Jeannie's point. The school system doesn't get money to give kids to go to college. The only $ they get is for Pre-K, which has proven to help prepare kids for school.
I do agree that Vance has problems. Just think how much more he could do if it wasn't for crap like this. He could spend more time helping teachers. I believe the scores aren't where they need to be, however, they are better under his leadership than ever before. My kids loved him when he was the principal. Just sayin
