How about an address, KOB??? Although it won't really matter since whoever will attend and wants to help will not be the people who are abusing their kids.
NO matter how many ways or times someone says "Stop", things change only when either someone makes the decision for themselves. Otherwise, it's always going to be too late to help [whoever]- after the child gets harmed, killed, or tucked deeper under the guise of blame of someone else (or their families)
I'm just sayin'

You need to look into the recent deaths of children in foster care while in CYFD custody, CYFD may have ignored procedure as two children within the last 2 month died under suspisous circunstances. I'm seriuos.

CYFD needs to do the same in the ABQ., area. Don't know if it will help, but it sure can't hurt.

It is reported that a child is abused in the USA on an average of every two and a half minutes. They are susceptible to sexual predators and physical abuse. They say that approximately 4 children die each day as a result of abuse. It shows no social barriers, no age barriers and no gender barriers. The abuse is not limited to just sexual abuse. It can be social, mental, physical, emotional, spiritual, financial, and many other forms. Fear is the main weapon used by these predators and abusers. Then of course all of this trickles down to social withdrawal and sometimes suicide. It is worse than what most of us perceive and something needs to be addressed and that place is Valencia county....

Oh my gosh CYFD tends to ignore stuff like this all the time. I think they need to invesagate all over New Mexico. I know of one case in Cibola County that they took children away from the parents 5 years ago and CYFD is still trying to get the parents to go get help so they can place them back with them. Instead of letting the relitives adopt them like they want, CYFD wants them back with parents that sexually abused them and are users of meth. Now that is sad. They only try to fix things when the child is injured or killed and it becomes public. CYFD needs hire more people that care about weather or not these kids are going to be taken care of.

This is just a cover up for CYFD for not doing a better job at following through.

i cant believe it took a poor innocent child to die before CYFD takes more action agaisnt these child abusers it is really a shame, that poor three year old boy did not deserve to die in such a cruel way. CYFD needs to start investigating things when they are brought to their attention not after an inoccent child dies!!!!!!!!!!

CYFD need's to come in and investigate these issue's.
They tend to investigate after the fact, most of the cases are going on and the report's are there CYFD tend's
to put it on the back burner.
The last two case's could have been prevented if they had removed the kid's from the home and did an investigation,a Dr.apt for the kid'sand look at back ground check on the abusive
parent. The only thing I can say is these people are failing the community and the victim's Shame on the CYFD in
Valencia County,The first thing they say is REUNIFICATION is there goal,
what child would like to return back in the hand's of the abuser, again shame on the
CYFD employees that can't think of the child's future and life. Now they want a meeting to try to cover the time's they have failed these children, one child dead and another one locked up because the CYFD system failed to investigate these case's..
Shame on you.

How are you going to teach people to not be ignorant, to be educated in a town hall forum. It's the same back woods mentality of the Hillbillies....just a different culture. You have all of this big city crime in a small town. It's pathetic here!

I agree, and I have said it before: Clean house! There are people (and I am talking about social workers) working at CYFD that can't even manage their own lives. Mandatory criminal background checks and maybe even some drug/alcohol screening. Talking from personal experience with one of their "professionals".

Then lets do somthing about it, lets form a militia and take over the state. Talk never changes things, BLOOD changes things.....let's get to killin those what need it. We can start in Santa Fe, and if we ever get done with the killin that is required (unlikely) there we can move south.
You're a fool. Grow up.

I couldn't agree with you more. If you become an innocent victim of this un-organized organization please be aware. Make sure you take notes of everything that is being said to you. They will turn your words and deny what they have said to you. Nothing is confidential people! CYFD please respond to the kids that really need your help. May our good Lord bless our Children! Remember to trust your village, It doesn't take a village to raise your kid only a good parent to show your child/children a good path that includes manners and good morals that we don't believe in anymore.

First off, folks, CYFD can only investigate what DID happen, not what WILL happen. Stop blaming them for the pervasive abuse in this state.

Second, a community forum is a good idea, but unfortunately, those who need to be there--that is, the adults who abuse the kids--would never attend.

Look at who abuses kids in Valencia County. They're poor, stressed out individuals who struggle to make it day by day. A typical profile is a young girl who gets pregnant (well before 17) and daddy-o ends up in prison for something. Feeling worthless, she gravitates to the next guy, who is probably on parole. He has no impulse control and doesn't like to compete with a 2-year-old for mom's attention. Wham; kid gets it upside the head and the boyfiend claimed the kid fell off the couch.

These are societal issues that a forum cannot address. Instead, let's talk about poverty, community-wide acceptance of young girls getting pregnant, and community-wide acceptance of young mom's hooking up with sociopaths.

I commend CYFD for holding the forum, but to do any good, someone needs to change longstanding cultural--yes, primarily Hispanic--attitudes. That ain't goin to happen in our lifetime!

Commend CYFD, lets not forget the fact that the mother tried to run over her husband with her car last year (that did happen). Was there any intervention done from CYFD to remove the children from this environment? "No" Wouldn't that be a red flag for anger management for this family?? Hispanic Attitudes?? Please, Attitude comes in all colors. Don't steer this to some racist blog! It's our children who are being killed by natives, Hispanics, and Caucasian people! Wake up!

Concern with NM laws, I agree with you, it is people of all racial backgrounds that are abusing their children. I personally think, that it is because of the use and abuse of drugs. Once the individual gets hooked on drugs that is their only concern in life, not what is happening with their children.

If you look at the cases in Valencia County, each child involved comes from a broken home. The system has failed these families! I know of a situation where valencia county authorities were called to help a well known respected family & the sheriff set out to help but in the end gave the child props for running away and partying all night with friends.

The people attending this forum will not be the ones abusing their children they are the one that are trying to decilpline them correctly. But, the law in NM does not allow them, you can't even raise your voice according to VC authorities.

While we are on the subject of child abuse, isn't the county/state resposible for our kids at dark busy roads while waiting for the school bus. This is also child endangerment. Valencia County is aware of this, but of course they wait until a tragedy happens to step in.

Sagittarius

You're in a strange mood, Sagittarius. You're feeling impatient and cross, and nothing is quite right. No wonder, with Mercury and Mars retrograde, under a Full Moon lunar eclipse! But is it necessary to be quite so contrary, so determined to do the opposite of what's expected of you? Try to sort out the problem sooner rather than later, then do something energetic and therapeutic so you can burn off your nervous energy. Then you're all set for a great New Year's Eve!
