Death in any aspect is heart-wrenching for someone. Both victims were important, wonderful and loved by someone (if not many.) I am a good friend of Mr. Merman's and though I grieve the loss of this wonderful man, I am also deeply saddened by the death of Juliana.

As far as behavior is concerned, who are we to judge what people do and don't do with their lives? Regardless of the cause of Juliana's death, it is a life lost, and that is saddening.

I also work in South Central (PC: South) Los Angeles, and though there is/has been violence, the people of South Central are wonderful, loving and caring people.

Please be cognizant of your comments before you post, and I would suggest taking a good hard look at our own lives, fix what problems we have and let others deal with themselves. The way I see it, I've got enough to worry about within my own self to try and nit-pick another.

Will i dought i can help investigate or dig throught clues like your doing. Alexander Merman Was a teacher of mines and he was so kind and funny he would always be like "Blake Do my classwork, Your full of shit lol" i love that teacher he was a insperation to me when i was 13 and is now the reason i live to be a succesful three-deminsional artist till this day, simply because of that guy. if he wasnt there to give me that push i wouldnt have succeded or would have been motivated to continue with what i do till this very momment. how ever what happened to him was a real tragedy im seriously hurt behind it but im postive that justice will be served.

I went to the services today for my good Friend Sasha Merman. I played hockey with him for the last few years. I can say after seeing the gathering for his funeral, that he was Loved by many, and had quite an influence on all who were lucky enough to have known him. His students I know will miss him. Our hockey team already misses his smile and humor at every game. The Westminster Rink had a memorial before the game last Sat. in his Honor, and His jersey was given to his Mother, for We will miss him dearly, and could never have another wear his #2 Jersey.
I am Glad to have known Sasha, and will always remember him.
It is too often that we lose someone to some stupid act of violence. May his Killer be caught, so that we can all rest in peace along with this great Man.

I wrote this several days ago,

Alexander Merman you of all people didn't deserve to die the way you did.

You are a hero. I know that you fought those cowards to the very end. You were a brave man.

But rest assured your contributions to this world especially to the many students that you educated so well will not soon be forgotten.

You did a great service to our children here in Santa Monica.

And these kids will carry on your spirit and kindness for many years to come.

You will be in our hearts forever.

And now there's been another violent attack in Santa Monica:

On Tuesday, April 28, 2008, at 11:45 pm Officers from the Santa Monica Police Department responded to an apartment complex in the 1200 block of 12th Street regarding a reported stabbing. The preliminary investigation indicates that the victim was home alone, asleep, when she was awakened by a male suspect armed with a knife. The victim fought with the suspect and received several lacerations during the struggle. The victim was transported to a local hospital where she was treated and released. The suspect fled the scene on foot.

It appears that the suspect may have entered the residence through a partially opened window. Residents are reminded to be cognizant of leaving their windows and doors unsecured during the upcoming warm summer nights.

The suspect is described as a male. There is no further description at this time.

You just can't stand the TRUTH!
Truth is synonymous with known fact. What do you know John Guz? Just one more question. Are you as ignorant as you sound?

Juliana Redding worked in a Strip club.
But I guess you can believe she was an angel.
Dream on.
Shall I sing thee a sweet lullaby
Before you slam anyone's life, do your homework. One false mention of a strip club & you're all over it with cynical comments & mean spirited words. When was the last time you saw a news report that wasn't embellished or without a spin in hopes of a better rating. You're missing the point. This is about life and death, not taking issue with details that may or may not be true- in short, shut up.

Well, John Guz, I may not be a close friend of Reddings', but I DO know that there WAS blunt force trauma, she DID NOT overdose, as you previously (and uneducatedly) predicted, she worked as a waitress at a bar, not as a stripper, and she was a very nice and caring person. No individuals murder is "more tragic" than another. If you'd ever actually READ the Good Book, you'd know that rumors and gossip are synomymous to lies, which is a sin. So shut you damned, hater, wanna-be, sexist ass because that could be you someday, and people could just say, "Well, he was just some ass who talked bad about the dead. Who cares?"

Daily Horoscope for June 4

Aries

Take care today Aries, because the emotional landscape in your neighborhood will be full of pitfalls during the coming fortnight, as it has been since the Solar Eclipse on May 20. The more convinced you are that you're right, the harder it will be to navigate your way around forthcoming events. If you feel resentful of someone, perhaps a neighbor or sibling, you need to get your feelings out in the open, rather than burying them deeper, where they'll fester and lead to more problems in the long run.
