It will be interesting to find out what the officers mistook for gunfire. Chances are this will all get swept under the rug

It is a sad day when officers are so afraid of losing there lives that they act before they see or know what is going on.It is surprising to me that this type of incident is not happening more and more often. I feel very bad for this family, although I have to say it is because of thugs and criminals and gang Bangers that these officers act first and find out facts later. i think it is a mentality of every man for himself and who wants to go home to the family at the end of the shift. This is what our society is coming to.

I used my coupon for a free Rally's Big Buford in Selma because I didn't want to risk going to Inglewood or Hawthorne to redeem it though. It's just not worth it anyway.

Bubbles - I hope you are just joking at a grossly inappropriate time... but I fear you are serious. Many young people are up late spending time with friends and doing things (gasp)... sometimes people get hungry... those people often go get something to eat... and maybe they live in or near Inglewood, so it should not shock you they would go get something to eat near their homes. Maybe in Laguna Niguel they roll up the sidewalks at 9pm and that works well for crazy old ladies who never leave home and are afraid of their own shadows. But if you really think going for a late bite makes someone a hoodlum I simply pity you with your narrow thinking and lack of life experience.

All that said, this was still a good shoot - officers later found a rake in the victims' trunk.

Your statement is stupid. In the Los Angeles and Inglewood it's not illegal to be out a 1:40 AM. It certainly does not warrant a death sentence. Even if you do not go out at that hour, there are many people that do and they should not expect to be killed by police, simply because they are not at home.

Whatever happened to “Protect and Serve”?

In Los Angeles and Inglewood, there are restaurants, stores and pharmacies that are open all night. Should all of their customers be shot and killed?

The people that were shot were victims. The fact that you call them hoodlums; show how little you respect the lives of others.

The police were wrong and should be prosecuted for murder and attempted murder. However, in Los Angeles and Inglewood, all the police have to do is state that they feared for their lives and like so many times before the police that “kill at will” will once again get away with murder.

Very similar to the New York city case. An unarmed brother is killed by police. It doesn't happen in suburbia because the police aren't as afraid. When urban police hear gunshots, they fire first, ask questions later. The result of all this will be either a riot or a huge financial settlement. The police will not be convicted. And the cycle will continue.....

Even if they were "hoodlums" the police still have to abide by the laws. After all, it’s the police that have taken an oath to withhold and follow the law, not the “hoodlums”.
Also, your assumptive line of reasoning is the one of the underlying reasons why we as a society still have to address these types of issues like police brutality and racism.

Are you serious?

A rake in a trunk warrants a death sentence...

What law backs your statement?

I agree, saying the magic words appears to work (Alado Di Allo/41 rounds in the poor guy) But in this case, You have judge the officers before the investigation is completed. I will wait to see the results, But I'm troubled.

So the thirty year old night manager hears gunshots before the cops arrived, and you all believe the thugs and friends that say of course their friends didn't fire first. Why is it that all the kids involved in things like this are never involved in a gang, etc. I've never heard of a mom saying, "Yeah, my son was in a gang. I was trying to get him out of it. I wish he would've listened. I told him to keep off the streets after midnight." What if they go back and see the bullets down the street some. Would you now be okay with the cops firing? His mom will still say he was such a good boy. It's so unlike him to do this sort of thing. It couldn't have been him. I'm suing for wrongful death. They forced my son to shoot. He was scared they would discriminate against him........

Cops don't shoot for no reason no matter what you may believe. Do you really think they want to get fired or end up in jail? There was definitely a reason. There's something fishy about this whole story.

Every investigation ends the same. The police say that they feared for their lives and the shooting is justified.

According to police, they saw a man running and they thought they felt something hit their car.

They did not say they saw a man running with a gun. They did not say the man threw something at the car. They just saw a man running.

When the man reached the car they started shooting and kept shooting until one man was dead and another was wounded.

If they thought the man was committing a crime why didn't they yell for him to stop running and why didn’t they identify themselves as police?

Like it or not, there are a lot of black men, dead for no reason – shot by police that feared for their lives. The man in New York that was shot over 40 times just going home from work and the man that was shot while leaving a club after his bachelor party, the man that was inside a home in Los Angeles at a masquerade party carrying a toy gun and the man in Santa Monica that went to answer his front door while carrying a BBQ lighter; the police was at the wrong house, but the man was killed. These are just some of the black men that were killed for no other reason than being black and feared by police.

As long as the police fear black men, they are going to keep killing them and getting away with murder.

poor innocent young man. i hope his family can overcome the grief and loss.those guys were probably worried about getting shot by gangbangers or some other trouble makers from inglewood, instead they were shot at, struck, and even killed by the ones whoe were supposed to serve and protect them. that fuckin sucks. now bubbles, why did michael jackson ever teach you how to type? now you got all these people bothered. be a good monkey and eat your banana. when did you move from encino to laguna niguel? i agree that cops need to get home to their families also, but i hope they man up to this huge, and hopefuly costly, mistake.

City of Inglewood Police Officers are some of this country's finest. They are caring and compassionate to the communities needs. They go the extra mile for each and every resident of this fine city. It's just unfortunate that people people rush to judgement in cases like this.

I personally know Chief Seabrooks, and I can assure you that she will do a through and complete investigation into this incident. Every since the City hired her as Chief, we have seen nothing but a positive change in the way officers conduct their business. Lets not forget, she fired the corrupt officers in that massage polar prostitution ring. I trust that she will allow proper due process and make the right decision when the time comes.

Chief.. Keep up the AWESOME work your doing...
