Small is beautiful...efficient and reliable.
Rooftop solar and independent control of our energy needs...anyone out there listening?
I understand that perhaps the independent part scares the likes of the business community....
but the rest of us should be able to get the simple fact that energy generated closest to its use is the best solution...not long transmission lines like the Sunrise Powerlink.

I've already done solar PV and it won't be enough. More baseline generation and power corridors to distribute the power has and will be needed for future needs. If I were you, I'd focus on Ohio's up coming deregulation next year. Divestiture of generating facilities and price increases of an already announced 34%. Welcome to the California of 2001. California needs to move on now and build more power generating facilities and the infrastructure to deliver the power. This will bring the energy rates down.

I live in a solar powered house with a wind generator and solar water heating. Small is small and generally more expensive. Solar works when the sun is out and wind when it blows but we need to be realistic. Our State's energy needs are huge and we have to have a mix of large scale options along with conservation, energy efficiency and rooftop projects.
