Maybe the A.C.L.U. can suggest a method to protect a officer from a wild person that likes to conceal needle's . Throw a blanket ? I hope everything goes well for the officer, but what about the next time ?

put him out of his misery, and OUR misery. That is horrible about the LAPD officer. I hope that loser's arm rots and falls off.(or worse) And, once again, the tax payers have to pay for the druggie's medical bills. Where does it end?????

Excuse me!!! Miss Nursey...your profession dictates compassionate care to all of your patients (as you stated in a previous post...I hold their hand so my patients don't have to die alone) Most drug addicts are miserable bastards? Where are you coming from? If you really are a nurse then you know that drug addiction is a disease. You should be reported to the authorities for even stating in writing that shooting him would put him out of his misery. You sound like one of those crazy nurses (angel of death type) who decides who should live and who should die! You need help, seriously.

Maybe miss 'nursey' was speaking as an outraged citizen and left her 'job' at 'work'. Some of us do that...leave our jobs at work and then come home and deal with the rest of our lives. Give her a break...and don't get your panties in a wad over someone's opinion.

Drug addiction isn't a disease. It's a choice to take that first hit, needle, snort or whatever.
Choice, it's all about choice.

You have been on my a** for reasons unknown and you are untiltled to your opinion. But like I said before, I know what type of nurse I am and it's a damn good one. None the less it burns ny a** that this guy took it upon himself to cause misery to a person who is out there to do a job. And if he is positive for HIV then all he was trying to do was kill this cop. Anybody who would have intentions of causing somebody the slow and agonizing death such as that from aids is a miserable bastard.

If a doctor "left his job at work" he could be sued for not attending to a person having a medical emergency (such as a heart attack on an airplane). That does not apply to a nurse? Do you think a psychiatrist should only help a suicidal patient during office hours? When the doctor's off duty he should say "that guy's crazy anyway...one more nut off the street if he kills himself!" Anyone in this woman's profession has a code of ethics to live by, and clearly she touts an unspoken power that should be investigated. Does she hate gays, too?

actually I don't hate gays or anybody else for that matter. But I do hate what this guy did to the officer. You are trying to make me seem like a mean and hateful person, which any of my patients and all of my friends would definetly correct you on. As a matter of fact I have been working in a prison where there are many drug addicts, murderers, child molesters and other criminals. Even in this environment I show compassion. I never ask what they have done, I just treat them like I would any other patient.

No actualy I got a dozen roses and got voted most compassionate nurse at my hospital job. I also got a few cards from some of my long term patients, thanks for asking.
