Los Angeles prosecutors and police told hundreds of Sylmar and San Fernando residents Wednesday that an injunction limiting gang movements is needed to stamp out a violent San Fernando Valley gang, despite ...

Illegal aliens protecting the illegal alien gang members. These fools actually think an injunction to stop the gangs will lower their home values? Whose sold those fools, I mean, residents that line of bull? Full speed ahead and congratulations to the City Attorney. Richard Alarcon needs to step up and explain to the residents the importance of the injunction or quit.

Why won't the dumb ass mayor and the city council just approve Jamiel's law? All we're asking is a minor modification to Special Order 40. Under Jamiel's law, the police can apprehend illegal alien gangbangers and deport them before they kill innocent people. If this leads to racial profiling, so be it. Nearly 100% of the illegal alien gangbangers are Hispanics anyway. Show me an Asian gang and I'll show you 20 Latino gangs.

1 Maybe if the city council stopped cramming building after building into the area it wouldn't get so bad. LAPD needs to set up a mobile command center in Sylmar and have a few shifts work out of there for a few months before they just throw gang injunctions out. |

1 is riddled with graffiti and the empty swimming pool is full of it, plus the surrounding area is tagged up and down the streets. I grew up in the Valley and it makes me sick to see it invaded by criminals, I would'nt live there if the houses were FREE. The 118 Fwy is even tagged repeatedly, not to mention that the MAJORITY of them carry weapons. You would think that if this "turf" was so important to them that they would keep it nicer, maybe what they need are some "GAY Gangbangers" at least if it were unsafe it would look nice.. |

They don't want their precious little hoodlum kids being harassed by the police and the status of their residency makes no difference. Parents of all types are not taking responsibility for raising their kids. Maybe because of the economy and both parents working or maybe because too many people have too many kids without being able to support them. Too many people are trying to tend to their families with only one parent in the home because having kids is a lot easier, and more fun, than caring for them.
In any event they should welcome any attempt to help the neighborhood. The police and sheriff are understaffed and overworked and they need every tool they can muster. |

When is someone in these "town hall" meetings going to stand up and call these Bull--it politicians to the carpet. When enough people start calling their bluff, things might change. Until then, they think they have pulled the wool over your eyes. These politicians starting with the gangster Tony VillaLaRaza, on down, are terrible for you, me and Los Angeles. All they are, are grown up gangsters, dresses up and with a slight education...but take away the spit and polish and they are right there in the trenches with the other garbage that is ruining our city!

Mr. Proud and Jewish,
Interesting name. Why did you pick that. I don't think we need more "offset, race individualistic thinking". Let's stick to the issue. The fact is, getting rid of gangs is better for all of us. I don't see any argument. White and proud. |

I moved to the Valley from the East coast in 1987. My family moved to Granada Hills and I worked in Van Nuys, right near Van Nuys Blvd. and Roscoe. I loved the Valley and was never worried about going out at night. There were bad pockets of Pacoima and Panorama City, like Parthrnia Street and of course Blythe Street. When I go to the Valley today, which is almost never, I can't believe how scummy it is. That's only 20 years folks, at this rate I cannot imagine what another 10-20 years of this gang, crime, violence and the illegal Mexican invasion will do to this once desirable area. North Hollywood is a complete toilet, I barely see any billboards or signs in English and the folks milling about are either cholos or homeless. I used to go clubbing in Hollywood, I wouldn't go there now under any circumstance. Your comment about not living in the Valley if the housing was "free" is right on. My point is, WTF is happening to the Valley and L.A. in general? I suggest everyone who gives a crap rent the Charles Bronson "Death Wish" trilogy and start asking themselves this question-" do I put up with this mayhem or fight back for MY rights", it's obvious City Hall has chosen their side and dosen't give a s**t about the decent citizens of this city. Time to make a decision folks. |

I belive that the TownHall was very informative. I left there knowing more about what is really happening in my community and what measures are being taken to protect those that want to live in peace in Sylmar. The Sylmar Neighborhood Council will be discussing this injuction further at their next meeting and hopefully more questiones can be answered. The Council will be taking a postion and they would like to hear from it's constituents. I encourage everyone that is still unaware of this injuction of what it means to our community to attend this meeting. It will be held Thursday May, 22nd at Hubbard Elementary at 6:30pm in the auditorium.

Seems we all want the same thing. Did you not understand that? Was I not clear? You won't get rid of gangs when the politicians support it? get it? |

I'll one-up you "so true". I grew up in the Valley. In the mid 60's I had some school friends that lived in Panorama City. Then it was a perfectly respectable, lovely middle class area. It had the only local shopping area. Broadway, Robinson's and other smaller stores. I would visit my friends and we would go to the Panorama Theatre, Chi Chi's Pizza and shop with no worries. Now, I don't even go there during the daylight hours. How do I avoid pointing blame at the Latino community for taking that city into the gutter when I knew how that same city was when it was predominately white? |

O.K., let's see if we can agree on one thing...Gangs and gang members of ALL RACES AND ETHNICITY should be removed from our streets.....period! |

There are impressionable, stupid, uneducated white kids also. But you said it yourself..."trying to be Mexicans". Stupid, uneducated people tend to find other stupid, uneducated people. |

By the way, nobody gives a crap that you are Jewish !!!!!!! |
