As a fellow Chelsea supporter Stevens comments are frankly embarrassing.

The insults and chants aimed at Liverpool from our support are a post 2003-04 occurrance, which is the same time that the rivalry between the 2 clubs intensified. The clubs respective managers needling each other and, I will diplomatically say, a contraversial goal saw a dip in the 2 clubs relationships. All the "murderer" rubbish reared it's ugly head at this time and it smacks of the new, premiership era, uneducated fan of which Cohen appears to be.

I hate it when I hear Chels support slinging uneducated slurs regarding what truly was a horrific day. Using the death of innocents as an insult is despicable. I inlcude absolutely anyone in that statement, be they Chels fans, Liverpool fans, Man United fans, etc or "radio presenters". They are each an ulcer on the majority of genuine decent support that each club has.

It's disingenuous to try to reduce Cohen's comments to a misreporting of 'shared responsibility' as 'solely' responsible. He has a track record of offensive and incendiary comments on this matter, and sets out to deliberately inflame Liverpool fans, not caring that he mocks the dead and their families as he does it. His perverse refusal to accept the findings of the longest judicial inquiry in British history in favour of personal prejudice with no substantiated evidence is the act of a bigot with an agenda. His own responses to considered and serious mails have been - when offered - abusive, aggressive and ignorant. The link to Heysel is not only untenable, it also shows a total lack of respect for the dead there, whatever he may claim, using them as just another barb to dip in his poison to continue his campaign of malice. He is not the victim here, and should not be given succour.

Wow. Thats one unballanced article. Did the journalist not think to ask Mr Cohen for one of these 3500 emails sent to his show that have made threats to his life and property?

By wrapping himself in the U.S flag, Cohen is insulting the people of America.
He is treating them like idiots by using the constitution to hide behind and at the same time trying to prohibit the opinion of many thousands of people.
He has lied , we can all see that. All that was asked from him was proff of his comments or an apology. He didn't do either.
The crux of all of this were comments he made that surprisingly have been omitted from the article. He stated that 6- 8,000 ticketless fans caused the tragedy. That comment is the main reason all of this began. Previous comments from him going back to 2006 tell everyone all they need to know about Cohen and his inate dislike for Liverpool F.C and it's fans.
Nobody has a real problem with that, however opinion based on hatred that is masquerading as fact has no business hiding behind the constitution of the U.S.
I would have thought that the journalist who wrote this article would know that the main work in the boycott is being done in The U.S, by American Liverpool supporters.
Is Cohen now saying they are 'terrorists' and don't understand the constitution?

The show ratings are down and some sponsors are not getting their moneys worth. They see the boycott as an ideal opportunity to pull the cash rug from under this man as to be linked with his comments will damage their business further.
I applaud their actions.

""""Cohen further angers Liverpool fans when he says that Hillsborough is related to the 1985 Heysel Stadium disaster in Belgium, when 39 soccer fans of the Italian club, Juventus, died after Liverpool fans breached a fence and attacked them. The Juventus fans retreated, which caused a retaining wall to collapse.""" "

I see what is conveniently left out is the fact that Liverpool fans attacked MISSILE THROWING Juventus fans who were PREVIOUSLY pelting said Liverpool fans with bottles and crumbling bits of terracing. It was trouble BETWEEN BOTH Liverpool AND Juventus fans that led to the Heysel disaster.

Sheesh.

Missing from the quotes by Steven Cohen and from the article is the fact that in his original remarks on his radio show, Cohen claimed that "6 to 8000" ticketless Liverpool supporters were present at Hillsborough, and that they were at the "root cause" of the disaster.
When pressed to provide a source for these allegations, he shifted his position to that of "shared responsibility" between the authorities and the Liverpool supporters; a claim that is also refuted in the Taylor Report mentioned in this article.
The author of this article should really have investigated the matter more deeply, rather than confine himself to a few quotes by Cohen where he uses the threats by a few -as unacceptable as they are- in order to divert the attention from the real story and thus wash his hands from having to answer to his wrongful claims by portraying himself as a victim.
Many Liverpool fans tried to reason with him calmly and rationally, providing facts and figures from independent sources and inquiries such as the Taylor Report, only to be met by attacks on Liverpool Football Club, shifting positions, and even insults.
The Liverpool supporters' outrage at Steven Cohen came after a long line of similar incendiary remarks, lies about Hillsborough, and insults towards Liverpool supporters, such as saying instead of having five stars on their shirts, Liverpool should have "39 coffins".

Liverpool's Fans, are these the same ones that sing songs about the Munich air disaster, and then turn around and want sympathy for their horrible tragedy?
Munich hasnt been sung about for years, and if someone does try to sing about it they get shouted down or sang over. And Liverpool fans dont want sympathy, just for the truth to be told.

I am apalled by this elementary journalism. How dare you paint Cohen the victim of anything other than his big mouth. Comparing Liverpool fans with the Taleban, and calling Liverpool fans terrorists. This is absolute slander. I hope the LA Daily news is sued. As far as Cohen saying his life has been threatened, there is no proof of this and he is saying this to cause sensation. I sincerely hope he gets fired from fox and all his radio show pull their advertising so his show will be forced to cancel.

Not quite sure what a few scumbag fans(not just Liverpool fans sing this song) singing songs about a another tragedy has to do with Cohen spreading lies about Hillsborough? Perhaps you could enlighten us?All teams have a "scumbag" element. Seems you are trying to do what Cohen is doing: make vast generalizations about not only a club but an entire city because of the actions of a few "fans".

This is a terrible piece of reporting. Anyone who wants to know the FACTS of the disaster should visit www.hfdinfo.com , or the Hillsborough Justice campaign(www.contrast.org/hillsborough ) or google the Taylor report.
As for death threats, theres never a justification for making death threats against an individual and his family, but Cohen has offered NO evidence of this at all. If death threats have been made he should hand all evidence over to the FBI now and let them investigate. So why hasnt he done this? Could it be he is trying to win sympathy and support as his "arguement" has absolutely no foundation?

No bobby, in fact i have. And I most definitely WILL be telling all my friends and family to do the same.

You see in the REAL WORLD there are CONSEQUENCES to ones actions. I do realize steven is a bit thick, you can't blame him for that. But. Freedom of speech is not ABSOLUTE. You can't run into a crowded building and scream fire right? Same as you can't spew lie's and misinformation on a national basis. I really can't believe the Daily News has been sucked into this whole sorry episode.

And Bobby you really need to have some thoughts of your own mate. You're embarrassing yourself.

Thirty four comments so far. Thirty two articulately expressing disgust at this article, Mr Cohen and anyone who makes death threats. Then there's two, both by "Bobby C", displaying the juvenile disrespect that we have come to expect from Mr Cohen and his supporters.

Remind me again, which side is morally bankrupt?

On behalf of the many Spurs fans here in Chicago i would just like to say we support the Liverpool fans who are pressing for Mr Cohen to get booted from the tv and radio shows.

All true football fans should unite behind this campaign, I believe Liverpool fans would help us if the shoe was on the other foot.
What disgusting comments.

Justice for the 96 and Cohen Out.

Also, the comment about suing the LA Daily News for running Steven Cohen's quote comparing Liverpool fans to the Taliban is crazy. This is a newspaper they quoted a person in the article. This isn't an editorial, it's not their opinion. They merely quoted a source. So by your logic papers can be sued anytime they print a quote from someone that you don't like? First freedom of speech, now freedom of press. Let's just rip up the whole Constitution because Liverpool fans are insulted.

Daily Horoscope for June 4

Pisces

Relationships are kind of shaky under this Lunar Cycle and you may even get the distinct impression you're heading for a major showdown with a certain someone. Although this feels like a crisis, don't let panic or desperation push you into decisions you would normally steer clear of. You may think you've reached the end of the road, but this isn't a good reason to go off the deep end and make drastic decisions. Proceed with caution!
