Great, now instead of a cat being adopted and declawed, the city pounds can just kill them.

I was willing to give up upholstered furniture and not declaw my cat but not many will so as bob-simi has said, many cats will be euthanized or left to roam the streets. Stupid-stupid move but then it is the LA City Council.

Cats with claws will shred upholstery and you can put all of the scratching posts out that you want but a big couch or chair will always be the primary choice for clawing. I tried all of the vet remedies and attempted to train him but finally I just gave in. Cats are independent and will not be trained, I realize that declawing is cruel but it beats dying by a long shot, but personally I just could not do it. So it is a decision best left to the owner and their vet if it comes to that.

you have a point! my mom & dad won't get a cat unless it is declawed and potty trained and the one we have now isnt potty trained but we didnt know that until a week later but by then, i was too attached to my cat to let him go so i kept on begging and using the dog face and it surprisingly works!

versus the thousands the owners just hand in because after the declawed kitty becomes a biter and or house soiler? They hand them over, or just dump them. Very quickly, making their bad choice someone else's problem. Take away declawing and that number in shelters goes down, by any logic. Then all you have to do is remove the ramant breeders, and you have a number the city can sustain.

Daily Horoscope for December 30

Cancer

Discussions and meetings go really well today because you're finding it easy to put your thoughts into words. You'll also show that you respect other people's viewpoints even if they don't coincide with your own. It's a good day for making domestic plans, and some of these will be quite ambitious without being unrealistic or far-fetched.
