I don't believe the FBI has an ax to grind against Mr. Mascheroni. They must have some reason for their investigation Mr. Mascheroni's innocence will hopefully win out quickly with the help of his physicist colleagues.

The guy is from Venezuela. Given who runs that country, I hope this guy is being followed 24/7. Better yet fire his sorry_ass.

It must be a conspiracy! Make them take a loyalty oath, or fire them. Investigate all their friends and neighbors. Throw them into solitary. And above all, advise innocent citizens to lock their doors!

Mascheroni is evidently an elderly FORMER physicist, a hobbiest...like his defenders...though he's evidently doing something in his garage for money, rather than idealism...the Journal's careless on this .

ALSO, The Journal isn't as focused as it should be on the identity of the alleged Venezuelan. Perhaps he was an FBI plant?

ALSO, Mascheroni evidently nuclear info for money: IF he was supposed to maintain secrecy in retirement, it's reasonable to investigate risk, even if the issue is senility or alcoholic confusion rather than treason...
